It is with great regret that I must inform you that CareCrystal has decided she will no longer be able to continue as Webmistress of Sycophant Hex. While she will continue to support Sycophant Hex as much as she can, going forward, I've gladly agreed to take on the role of Webmistress.



CareCrystal has been with SH for many years, working in virtually all of the roles on the site, and serving as a wonderful, dedicated Webmistress for over two years. We are all very sorry to see her go, and wish her all the best for the future.



This transition should be smooth and seamless for site users. I have been with Sycophant Hex for quite a few years, working both in the submission queues and on the technical side of the site, and am looking forward to continuing to support SH and its members for many years to come.

Due to a technical problem, we're suspending story submissions today—February 28, 2010—until further notice. Since submissions by Validated Authors post directly to the archive, we're asking specifically that these authors do not post stories or chapters.. Any submissions now in the queues will remain there until this issue is resolved. Any new submissions will be returned to their authors. We're working to resolve this problem. Updates will be made to our Live Journal Community as soon as they are available. Thanks for your patience.

For those needing discretion while visiting our archives, we have added a new "discreet" skin, which can be activated by clicking Account Info, and then Edit Preferences. We are hard at work fixing many other features and enhancements, so please continue to be patient! Thanks.



Edit: If you choose to click back to "default" from "discreet" you will need to close your browser and clean out your internet cookies, otherwise it will not take. It seems to be a security feature of this new software upgrade.

Lumos is now open for submissions. All stories have been moved from The Burrow, Pureblood and Wolfsbane, but reviews are still pending -- so please be patient with us.



All authors, please check your stories to make sure the characters, classifications, and warnings are the ones you desire, making any needed changes. We appreciate your assistance.



In a few days, we will post more information about new features on Lumos we believe you'll enjoy -- please watch for further announcements!

Our software upgrade is complete, but please bear with us as we add Burrow, Pureblood and Wolfbane stories to the Lumos archive.

Recently, a great deal of correspondence to SH members who have an email address at sbcglobal.net has been either a) bouncing back to the admins, or b) just getting lost in cyber space. This is affecting our communication with authors and new members, and also our ability to answer Help Desk inquiries. If you have an email address with sbcglobal.net, you must ensure that your account will accept email from sycophanthex.com, or must provide us with a working, valid email address using a free, SH-friendly mail system such as gmail. This is especially true in the case of authors, whose submissions may be subject to deletion if we are unable to be in contact. Thanks for your help in this matter!

Because the holidays are upon us, your submissions may be delayed for a bit in the queue so that our incredibly hard-working admins can spend extra time with loved ones. If you have recently registered under the old shillusions.com site, you may have to re-register at the new site in order to enjoy the full benefits of Illusions, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thanks for your patience during this time of transition -- this switch-over will help Illusions continue well into the future!

Many of my lovely fellow admins are already in Toronto for Prophecy this weekend, and others (myself included) have internet connection issues, real life commitments or problems, and quite a few other things that are keeping us away from the internet quite a bit more than we'd like. Because of these circumstances, the queues and helpdesk may be a bit slower than usual. We ask that everyone be patient during this hectic week—everything should be back to normal speed once Prophecy is over, though keep in mind that it may take a few days for us to work through the backlog of fic in the queues.
