I love this story, now I'm trying to find A Thousand Miles and can only find the first chapter on fanfiction.net. Is it archived elsewhere?
Terrific story. I couldn't help but cry. It was so sad. Now I want to know what happened between "A Thousand Miles" and "Eulogy". You write to well not to bless us with the beauty of how their love story progressed.
I don't think I've cried that much for some time. After ready the sequel to this, I decided to read Subsentio. I - I can't really say how much I truly enjoyed this. I know this was posted some time ago, but when I read something posted and age ago and find that I love it - I'm compelled by the Plot Bunny Union to review. Thank you so, SO, much for sharing this heartfelt story. Although it made me cry, for which I should be exacting revenge upon you, it merely shows how well you did as an author. Thank you. *~Luv Loz, mwa!~*
This was beautifully done. I'll admit that I cried. Blaise definitely became a fully-fleshed, real character to me in such a short time. The epilogue strikes just the right note however; hopeful and full of promise.
Oh my goodness. Poor Blaise! And poor Hermione! You wrote her state of shock beautifully.
This was a great chapter. I especially enjoyed this part: "This was not some fairy tale, and there was no happy ending waiting for an appropriately dramatic moment to arrive." Hermione's growing up and realizing that the adults don't have all the answers. Sometimes you can't just kiss the pain away. This is a rough lesson to learn, particulary when you're a Gryffindor in the midst of a budding romantic relationship with a Slytherin and hiding a huge secret from your best friends.
Great insight into Hufflepuff loyalty and Cedric's murder alienating scores of potential Death Eaters.
Clever and delightful potions class. I can't wait to see what's brewing inside Blaise.
Interesting dynamic between Hermione and Blaise. I'm off to read more!
"Derived mostly from iocane powder, it was not only deadly but also fast-acting, and untraceable when in potion form. " Hah! "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"
Author's Response: "Hahaha! Hahaha! Haha-". Thump.
Iocane powder. That's so awesome. It makes me think of 'The Princess Bride.' That movie was my favorite movie when I was a little girl. Cary Elwes was my first celebrity crush. Anyways - it's a great story so far. I'm really enjoying it.
That was a very good and sad story. You did an excellent job of writing it. Keep up the good work!
Well wasn't this just a tiny bottle of happiness wrapped up in lots and lots of angsty wrapping paper. Not many fanfictions can make me cry, but I shed one or two tears over this story. Good Job, very well written!
Author's Response: Thanks very much! As unpleasant as it sounds, I'm glad to hear you got a wee bit weepy ;)
Thanks for reading!
Your story is absolutely beautiful, heartbreakingly so. Your characterisations were lovely, and very in keeping with canon, I think. Blaise and Hermione's relationship was exquisite in its short-lived glory, and I love all of the possibilities you left us with in your ending. Thank you for writing this - it is one of the loveliest pieces of fanfiction I've read in a long while!
Out of sadness, hope springs. I loved this fic! Hr/B is great and I loved the subtlty of their relationship as well as the in-character interpretation. I loved how Hermione found comfort in Severus and that happiness will come for her. This was a brill read. Thanks! ~Annie WNS :D~
Sorry for not reviewing every chapter... I was reading too fast. This was wonderful and poignant. Well done! ~Lisa
I'm happy chapter clicking, sorry for not reviewing every chapter but this story is so good. I just had to stop to thank you for using a poison based on Iocane powder. William Goldman and S. Morgenstern thank you as well! Kudos! ~Lisa
I am glad to see this completed. I read the first half of this a while ago, and was caught by the bittersweet intensity of Blaise's fate then. You did a wonderful job of setting up his fall, making all the wonderful characters dance together, watching and yet unable to save him. I enjoyed the subtle play of Snape's role, and her increasing understanding of him. And I loved the end- I think Hermione's right; I don't know whether knowing his fate really couldn't have been changed makes things better, or worse. But it does make it complete, and a wonderful note to end the story on. Also, reading 'A Thousand Miles' enhances this story, just as this one enhances its sequel. Good job, this is one fine piece of writing.
Good writing, good spelling, good grammar, good story, good characterisations. Thank you very, very much. What a great Hermione you wrote.
Beatifully done. Thank you. K
Hi...thought I'd drop in a much delayed review. I've been reading this over the last couple of days and I think it's great. I'm worried about Blaize, I hope he's OK. I do know that they don't end up together in the end because I've read "A Thousand Miles" which is great and should be continued(hint, hint)! But I still hope Blaize didn't die over the holidays or anything. K
