The story has taken an interesting turn. The character of Capt. Burns is very different from the usual types that figure in most of these fictions, and different is good! I particularly enjoy the alternate kinds of magic that she does. Please keep on with more chapters.

Poor Prof Burns. Some people ALWAYS seem to get the crappy jobs to do because they're not fun. never mind the necessity of them. You are doing a great job of making her inner pain flash through as well as her feelings of vulnerability. She's quite a complex character and I think you're doing a very good job showing her off for us.

Author's Response: More about Lupin in chapter 23... 24... 25. Unfortunately, Lupin will not be healed until Christmas. It takes time for the Healers to find cures, and it wouldn't be credible if they found it so early. Which doesn't mean Lupin will not be cured one day. ^^ I promise more about Snape being in love. As for Ron and Hermione... it will take time too...

Great story, this is just the kind of stuff I like best, mysterious and flawed heroes/heroines. I really like that you are able to put in lots of mystery and almost ridiculous amounts of super-magical abilities into Burns without the whole thing falling apart from over-absurdities, that’s the sign of a good fantasy writer.
The only thing I suggest is put all the “discoveries” about Burns in only as either Harry and Hermione (whichever is going to be the main investigator) finds them out, otherwise it gets confusing trying to remember who knows what and therefore to judge their evolving perspective of the situation. However, I really like all the stuff with Snape and Burns and I don’t see how that could be worked into a Harry/Hermione centric story structure, it’s just something to think about.
This is going down as my favorite story on lumos to date-keep on writing:)
Author's Response: Whaw! Thanks for that long review! ^____^ Actually, the story was told from Hermione's point of view for several reasons. I thought Harry couldn't be as objective as her when it was about feelings, especially when it involved Sirius. Hermione was the better character to investigate. She was a "pretext" to learn more about Burns' story. But soon, there will be a turning-point in the story. We'll have more of Harry's point of view and not much of Hermione's. We'll also have other (and more interesting [I guess ^^]) points of view. And I have to mention that my story is not centered on Harry and Hermione. Actually, the first twenty chapters are there to give clues and many interpretations (wrong or right). The sequel contains flashbacks... It's a little difficult to explain the structure now, but you'll soon see where I am going... probably as soon as chapter 20. I have already posted 29 chapters on another site. I've submitted chapter 18 to Lumos today. I hope it will be posted soon! Thanks again for your encouraging comments!!!

I'm finding Burns a facinating character. I love her interactions with the students and especially with Snape. I'm very curious how she'll manage to rescue Lupin and whether she will ever be able to let go of some of the immense pain she has had built up over the years.
