What a beautiful story. I've never read anything of this pairing before, but it was such a sweet little story that almost made me cry.

What a truly beautiful story! Gosh i nearly cried at the end! Your a fantastic writter and i loved every bit of that story. I wish there was more to it. You should try to find a fanpic of Zainbi and Granger to match this fantastic story. Keep up the good work!

Aww! But poor Professor Snape...Severus...he is in my heart, and i hope and pray he doesn't die in the book, because my breath caught when i read that you had killed him off!
Author's Response: Snape is my favorite character, and I'll probably never kill him off in any other HP fiction, but it just seemed to work in this little piece -- I liked the symbolism that even in death he was protecting Hermione. Thank you for telling me that it moved you. That's always a great compliment.

That was moving, beleivable, lovely and I enjoyed every moment of it. Blaise and Hermione have some real possiblilities though and I'm glad you showed that here. This is the first of your work that I've read and it has made me want to read more. Thank you for writing it I really very much enjoyed it.

I think Blaise would be a good possibility for a fairly believable and intriguing pairing for Hermione. All the shock value of Hermione dating a Slytherin ::gasp:: but without hte deeply entrenched animosity. Without too much self-promotion, I have a Draco/Hermione story on Pureblood, and a couple of Snape/Hermione stories on Ashwinder, if you're interested.

I just read this through -- twice. I enjoyed it. I love the way you weave the story --- I can always SEE what you are describing. I had to smile at the "daughter of dentists" sentence. That is characteristic of the Hermione I imagine. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this novel in short story form!

Piognant as always. I've read this somewhere else that you posted, but I'm not sure that I reveiwed it there. Hermoine and Blaise--now that has possibilities. I just wish we knew more about him--hopefully he's this cool! Thanks for sharing more of your great prose!

*blinks away tears* That was beautiful, Bambu! Stunning! The reality of war really hits home when you see some of the most beloved characters dead and gone - Hagrid, Snape, Dumbledore, and so many more. I loved the whole Hermione/Blaise pairing, as well as Draco inevitable acceptance of it. It is so him not to accept it for nearly a year, but still eventually does so. Stubborn little dragon... ;) Again, beautiful job! :)
Author's Response: When I sent this little piece to SnarkyWench (my beta) she sort of smacked me for killing off Snape (he is my favorite Slytherin after all), but I thought it worked so well for this piece -- especially that his last act, posthumously, is to cause Hermione to falter in her path, allowing her life to be spared as a result. There's some sort of irony or poetic justic in that, I think. I hope. Anyway, thanks so much, AQ, for the review, as always... it just makes my day.
