That's a very special story! It shows how the opinions of the majority influence us - but your character has matured over the years and was able to try to glimpse beyond the picture provided by the media. Well done!
I think the perspective of this fic is so unique--the judgments, and misjudgments of the average wizard on the events of Harry's life. You showed how truly fickle the public can be in how it treats its heros. Your narrator came nicely to her senses, however, admitting she'd been wrong, and moved on in such a poignant way, to now do perhaps the only thing in her power that she could do--say a prayer for his well-being. Well-done.
Author's Response: Aw, thanks Cindy! :) You spoil me, you know that? I'm glad you liked it!
its nice to think even wizards pray
Author's Response: I'd like to think at least some of them do - especially those with any sort of Muggle ancestory.
Oh, what a great story! (Here on a rec from smoke). I like how you have structured the passing of time, and the POV is very original. This is exactly what I come to fanfic for - those POVs and tales that cannot be told in canon because of the limitations of Harry's POV. I love what you have done here with the theme of hero-worship, and 'saviour' ideology, and just getting in the head of a regular person who has witnessed war on the homefront, watched the news, and applauded the hero. A very refreshing take on the entire HP series. Thank you for posting it. :) ~Lee
Author's Response: Thank you! I started thinking about the average witch one day, and how she would see Harry from an outside perspective, and I realized that she wouldn't see him like we do at all. I had a lot of fun writing this story - I think it's my favorite of the three I've written. :) Thanks for the review!
This is wonderful! Very moving. Thanks for posting it.
Author's Response: Thank you! And thanks for rec'ing this story. :)
