I'm not quite sure I understand what you wanted to achieve with this. Even if it is pre-HBP, we know quite a lot about Ron's character already, and I'm not entirely sure you've portrayed him particularly well. I like the idea and it is well written, it's just the characterisation I'm not 100% sure of. Maybe thoughts like this would be better suited to Hermione, as she always seems to be the most insecure of the trio to me.

*blinks* "So when they bury him after the final fight, to which you were not invited," You don't think Harry would invite Ron? That doesn't make much sense to me. I don't like the tone of this ending - it just doesn't fit with my impression of Ron. To each their own, though.

Author's Response: I think it's not so much a question of Harry inviting Ron or not as Harry not wanting Ron to risk his life in a fight with Voldemort (which Harry knows he must do alone anyway) -- I was interested in Ron's perspective here, and I can see him reading Harry's refusal to take him along as "not invited". This was also written prior to HBP so Ron's characterisation's bound to be wonky. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
