Found it on the randomizer- I've read your Ashwinder stuff, and I really like this. It can be very tough, trapped into a marriage that you're not really happy in, but not sure that the pain of leaving would ever be worth what you might gain with someone else.
Love the story, it is moving and beautiful and ...I could go on and on but the only thing that needs to be said is that I would like to know if he indeed leaves the B**** and starts a family with Hermione....and that this is how I see the future for the real Harry would he survive book 7 well done!
Voting for the Multi's dragged me over here, and I have to say it was well worth it. This is very sad, very sad indeed. I can really see exactly what you write about except Ginny, and although people change, I'm not sure they change that much - I know, some do.
You really have said a lot in a short piece. I can definitely see the a Molly, who has lost so much, becoming more controlling than ever; it's a natural response to that kind of stress.
Anyway, well done, and it's definitely got my vote, fwiw.
Hee! this was great! I really enjoyed the perspective, and the character studies. Will there be any more sessions? It seems pretty clear that Harry and Hermione would be a much better match for each other here, but then the whole deal with the Weasley family...oi. :P I'm sure all the brothers would be cool about it, and level headed, but...Molly and Ginny, not so much. :P
Another piece to go into my "favorites". Good angst piece of how once the conflict ends, the pains of life and living begins.
That was good. Writing 'post war' fics is not easy, but this one worked.
I know you think that this story is a one-shot, but I believe I could gather enough people and pressure you enough to continue it ! *narrows eyes* Don't push me, chica! Seriously though, I thought that your take on Harry's situation was wonderful. I believe that he already needs psychiatric counselling, and by the end of Book 7, so will we all ! I wondered whether Billy might in fact be .. his child? although he doesn't seem to have sexual/romantic feelings towards Hermione, but they certainly share a powerful bond. Love d it, and am SERIOUSLY hoping for a continuation. Just smile and nod. ::pats your shoulders soothingly::
Wow, I like this! Harry's voice is very well done. It definitely sounds like he and Hermione and the kid should get the hell out of there, though! ;-D This is an interesting take on the dark side of normalcy.
Wow, so much to think about. . . the doc telling Harry to come clean about wanting children with Molly ~ seems like that would be just the thing to let him out of the marriage gracefully . . . Billy perhaps not being Ron's baby. . .
It's really well done. I think having only Harry's narrative made it particularly unique.
You're sneaky, you know that? That's all I'm saying... Oh, and I still think your fic is wonderful. ;)
I really liked how this covered so much ground with the characters and did it in a way without needing a lot of plot details and without hitting you over the head with stuff (e.g. the H's feelings about HR really came out). Thought all of the characterizations were spot on in terms of where these characters might end up, except for perhaps the bit about Ginny being willing to spend money on a dress but not on orphans (although as another reviewer mentioned, war does strange things to people). Still, I see even her characterization as being well written.
Well seeing all the reviews, I knew this story had to be good and I was so right. Harry's thoughts and feelings were very telling and the characterization was on point. Brilliant even. And being a HUGE Harry/Hermione shipper, I can only hope (crosses fingers) that all this praise about Hermione will lead somewhere. So please keep up the great job. Wow, that's the longest review I've ever sent! ^_^
That's a good one, Lisa.
I can totally see Harry not wanting to pursue a career in Quiddich, because it makes no difference. I think you have characterized Harry, the man he will be/could be dead on.
I just can't see Ginny the way you described her, but a war does strange things to the psyche of people, so it could be possible after all.
And in my opinion Harry is going to be in dire need for a psychotherapist when the war will be over.
Too bad it's only a one-shot; this could evolve into a wonderful H/Hr story - a primer for you! ButHarry did say "Until next Wednesday" after all, didn't he?
Mmh, interesting. I'd like to read more about Harry's inner life. Are you sure you can't be persuaded to write a second chapter, or a sequel?
I really can see it turning out that way: Ron and Hermione getting married even though they're clearly wrong for each other, and Harry deluding himself that he's happy with his life simply because he's alive to live it. The way you characterized the rest of the Weasleys is perfect, exactly how I would expect them to be in that situation. Excellent!
Hmm, too good for mere words! I'm hooked. Loved it, especially all the mentionings of Hermione by Harry. Freud would have plenty to say about THAT I'm sure. As long as this isn't a one-shot, I'm happy.
hey wow that was really good. It is kinda how I imagine it all turning out actually. very interesting and well written. Will there be anymore?
No, are you sure I said her marriage? I meant our marriage, of course.
That was a great slip, hehe. The fic was brilliant by exploring how 'happy endings' don't really exist. I didn't mind the anti-GW/HP...not my cuppa, anyway. =]
