I had to laugh when I looked at the pic of Snape's birthday wish. I see what you mean, Hermione must get tired, too, of being in bad fan fiction. I am certain she liked being in this one.

This is charming! Not much of a plot, but the required elements fit in seemlessly, and it was a sweet interlude.
I think it could have been stronger with more character development for one or more Original characters, or perhaps more interaction between Hermione, and/or Seamus and/or Cedric and/or an OC. BUt it was nicely written, and made me smile.

I'm glad it made you smile; that was my first goal, following that of getting all the elements in, of course!
I thought Hermione needed a break, not just from Ron and Harry, but from the whole fandom thing - so I gave her a pleasant day away from everything and everyone. And, as it was Hermione's special day, I left the other characters vague.
Perhaps in a different way, this illustration from the SH Illustions site (rated G for the illustration, PG for its explanation) might be another way to explain what I was trying to do for Hermione.
