I read somewhere else an essay about how Percy cared very much for his family, especially for Ginny in the second book, and was always trying to help her. It was no small thing becoming the second Head Boy in one family, or getting on in the Ministry as far as he did. I like the logical path you set out, and agree with your answer to the other reviewer that the story arc in DH was not handled well: Who was that who used Polyjuice to take Percy's place?
Author's Response: I found DH deeply disappointing in most respects. The way it handled the Weasley reconciliation was only a minor one of them. Are you recalling an actual essay or perhaps a story or review response? I've made those points repeatedly in both, but haven't come across any essays that did, so I'd be interested to know where you saw it. My story "Everything: Reunion" at ffnet or the "Reunion" arc of "Everything at Ashwinder lets Percy and his siblings argue it out from a vantage of twenty years.
Aww this is quite sad. I like it. It just shows the thought process nicely. I'd almost like to see it updated to include DH events as well?
Author's Response: I don't know. I quite loathed DH. It didn't resolve much of what I thought needed resolving and the Percy-arc there annoyed me, because his family have things to apologise for too. And he was right about a certain person being less than trustworthy and they were wrong...
