Hey there, popped over from LJ to have a look and I'm very glad I did because you really surprised me. I thought this was a vrey insightful snapshot and despite DH not explicitly linking the two wars I don't think it matters. The prison mentioned in DH had 'For the Greater Good' carved over the entrance. I believe something very similar was written in wrought iron over the entrance to Auschwitz. Great first one-shot!

I like the last line haha, very good. Overall I think its a well written fic and interesting. I feel there is something missing though, more insight into why he is the way he is would have been interesting. A good job though.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I decided to stick with a narrower timeframe, rather than explore his whole background. The mood and structure was influenced by Doomspark's fic, mentioned in the Author's notes, and I think that the first person narrative would have been a bit strained with a longer story. Who knows, maybe the muse will re-visit with the reasons why he was like that in the first place.

Very interesting take on the history of the Potterverse; I like the idea that it's all connected somehow. I agree that the last line is great!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. When I researched the timeline in the Lexicon, it seemed like too good a coincidence not to exploit. Obviously, DH put paid to that theory, but it was nice while it lasted!

A creepy story about a truly evil man. As you have clearly portrayed him, not evil because of his disease, but because of his behavior and his desires. Nasty. (The man, not the story.)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I thought that the man he ws before he was bitten must have a bearing on what he became afterwards. The fact that he was a sadist even when not at the full moon seemed to say that he was always like that, and that becoming a werewolf just expanded on it.
