Awww, that gave me a little tear and a smile, in a very nice way. :-)
Author's Response: I'm so happy you liked my little story! Thank you very much for telling me.
I like how Harry is surprised to see his trophy mended, and curious about how it was done, thinking that his aunt did it. It was probably things like that that helped keep his optimism up during those pre-Hogwarts years. I appreciate the work that the teachers did for him, as that was a time, sad to say, when bullying and being bullied were considered part of life at school. I like the hints of Harry's crush on Miss Covington, and wonder about Tiffany Todd: Will she be making an appearance in some future story? All in all, well done! Thank you for sharing!
Author's Response: I'm so pleased you liked the story. I hadn't any plans for Tiffany Todd. Actually, I wrote it some time ago, back before Order of the Phoenix was written. and Miss Covington was Mrs. Figg's niece, Arabella Covington Figg, a member of the Order and friend of Lily's, who studied at Muggle University so she could teach at Harry's school and keep an eye on him.
Well, that changed. We know that the Durselys' neighbor, Mrs. Figg, is Arabella Figg. But I think Miss Covington could still be Lily's old schoolfellow.
Witch or Muggle, I always imagined Harry would have written to Miss Covington once in a while, telling her he'd got some hardship scholarship to his father's old school, and that he was very happy away from Dudley. Thank you for your thoughtful review.
this was a very cute story :)
