This is a thoughtful, descriptive and interesting take on how Snape handled Dumbledore's foolishness, and his subsequent request.  The characterization is dead on, and your dedication to details (using the apothecary system for the measurements, for instance) give the story wonderful depth. What I enjoyed most however, was the dialogue (internal and external) that you added, interspersed with what we see/hear/know in canon. The added 10% gives it flavour.  It also adds to the irony that is Snape's life.
