I just needed to stop by to leave a review for this, possibly my favorite story in the post-DH fandom.

It is beautiful, Juniperus. Thank you - and Neville - for this wonderful memorial to one of the most complex and fascinating characters in fiction.

Author's Response: Thank you so very, very much! I am still amazed at how this story has touched people, and I am honored to have been able to tell it.

You had me right up until "rosemary". I could not imagine a soft carpet of the plant, as it's basically a woody shrub with needle-like leaves. The rest of the story was beautiful, and it was fitting that Neville should be the one describing the memorials, and even more so, that Snape has one just for himself - a grove of trees, and the placement of it is perfect, flanking Dumbledore's tomb. I could imagine it, and I hope that someone with the skills would illustrate it. The Ministry, with all of its politics and shams, is the worst possible place to have a cold memorial for the fallen of Hogwarts; a living one at the school is far, far better. Thank you for sharing.

Author's Response: I've seen Rosemary planted in such a way that, from afar (and who would dare wander Snape's copse?!) it looks quite soft, indeed - especially when in flower. Not to mention, at that distance the green between the tree trunks would very much soften the appearance of the hillside upon which they grow. Thank you for the review! :)
