Hi, I've been reading your story and enjoying it - here's my reactions: 1) I'm really mad at Hermione for closing herself off from everything that made her life interesting - magic, Ron etc, and accepting this half-existence. Is that really what Harry, Ginny and all who died would want for her? 2) I'm mad at Ron for accepting this half-Hermione and not rocking the boat just to be in her life. This would be torture for him, I'm sure. Is he better off without her? Doesn't Hermione relaise he lost his family too, and still chooses to live in the wizarding world, and still puts his heart on the line, telling Hermione he is lin love with her? 3) I'm furious with Ron for bringing Victor into it. What would he have done if Hermione wanted to take up with im again? Talk about self-flagellation! But then again, maybe he's a genius - he;s just found out Victor is no competition for him. Please, please continue, I can't wait to find out what happens - hopefully love conquers all in the end and Ron and Hemrione end up together! Roisin

You are right, there are too many people who are content to see Ron as an idiot. And he certainly *can* be one, but he's not really stupid. He can be insightful, if he stops for a moment....and at the age of 27, I hope he pauses more than he did as an impetuous teen ;). Anyway, I am enjoying your story, and I hope Ron is able to tease Hermione out of her shell of grief, ever-so-gradually, so that someday, she will get 'Ron's letters, not just 'Ronald's.

Rated 10
I really enjoyed this first chapters. It looks to me like you'll need some more for Ron to get old/new Hermione back, though... And I'll happily read them when they're here. I love your Ron, as was clearly your intention and I agree with you that canon Ron isn't half as dumb as he's often portrayed, even if that can be fun to read, too.
Thank you, Annie!
Fran

It's too sad but written in such an honest fashion that it had me intrigued from beginning to end. I'm not one for character death scenarios but luckily isn't necessarily the case. It tore at me to read Hermione no longer is the girl she once was, but there are moments in our lives that make impossible to stay spirits we were meant to be. Ron, still the gallant knight staying by fair maidens side without her knowing. The last letter was the one that finally made me break down and cry. He still loves her and as he did before biding his time, needing her and accepting her friendship hoping she lose this passionate belief she has about not being able to love someone again. Whether Hermione realized it or not, her old spirit is still alive in her and Ron saw it when she had played with the kitten. You made me fall in love with Ron all over again, thank you.

So Ron has accepted that he can only be her friend - for now. I'm really curious where you are going to lead us to.

Wow that was depressing. It was beautifully written though, fresh and original.

This is an intriguing beginning and format--the title seems to perfectly evoke that. I like both voices--Ron's a bit stumbling and inarticulate but sincere, mature, and insightful--and Hermione's--oh, Hermione's--so bitter and damaged but not hard to see this Hermione coming out of the war at all. I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Author's Response: Thank you for reading/reviewing! It was more difficult to believably "mature" the Ron we know from canon than I had imagined. But Hermione was terrifyingly easy. I'm glad you think I got there...I'll keep working at it!

Hermione having torn down all connections to the Wizarding World came as big surprise. I have to say that I wonder how Hermione (the way you describe she lives now) has come into contact with Ronald again - didn't she know that Sarita was a witch? Has Ron branched out into the Muggle world?
You made me curious.
And the letter written by Hermione made me sad.
So I can only compliment you on your story and the completely different approach you make.

Author's Response: Thank you! I am glad you are finding it intriguing but not completely out of character! Annie

No, Ron is not an idiot - he just needs more time to mature. And you gave him that time in your story.
Liked it!
