So strongly written. Poor Ron.

Author's Response: Thank you.

Wow! This was so wrenching a story. I could almost feel the cold seeping from Ron, and creeping into my veins, too. To be the only one left... But maybe not. One can only know if one is truly alone by revealing themselves to others. Beautiful story.

Author's Response: The cold that Ron felt was me, after my brother passed. I'm glad I was able to convey it to you but with the hope that comes with living! Thank you! ~Ruthie

This came up as a random pick. Wonderful, i must admit, although I usually like happier stuff. Excellent! and shows Ron as more than just a silly boy. Too much fanfiction portrays Ron as a silly littleboy.

Author's Response: Pookah, Thank you very much for reviewing! I really love this story. I also do humor, but this plot bunny grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go. Thanks! ~Ruthie

I can't believe I hadn't left you a review for this weeks ago when I first read it. My apologies.

I enjoyed this rather grim look into one possible future. With the entire Weasley family engaged in the war -- even Percy in his securely boxed office at the Ministry isn't exempt, for he is still a Weasley -- is at prime risk. I cannot foresee an ending to this story without a single loss (frankly it would be entirely implausible.) This Ron, who clutches his pain to himself to tightly almost breaks one's heart. It's a nicely written piece.

Author's Response: Bambu, THANK YOU so much for your review. This was a very difficult story for me to write. I found this rather necessary for me to write. I was able to take some very serious personal emotions that I was feeling since the passing of my brother and channel them into one single story. I know that it is a sad piece, but I hope that I was able to show a glimmer of hope for Ron, as indeed, there is a glimmer of hope for all of us in whatever situation has us feeling surrounded by the Dark. This sure is a very different story from my Sex Therapy in the Dungeons, isn't??? :) Again, thanks for your review. ~Ruthie

The thought that things could turn out this way is terrifying. I've never really considered that the Dark would win, but you've painted a beautiful, sad picture of survival. Ron is my favorite canon character and I thank you for showing his strength. Most fics don't do him justice; this was sad but it shows Ron as the man I hope he'll live to become.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! Ron is absolutely my favorite canon character. The movie Ron doesn't do the book Ron justice (still love you Rupert!). Ever since HP and tST I always saw Ron as very strong willed and passionate. As a lone survivor of everyone he held dear and life as he knew it, he would use that will and passion for his own survival, even if only to be a torch to those he loved. But the real Ron still has to come through. He is trusting and passionate. I can only hope that I portrayed that in some fashion. Thanks for reading and reviewing! It means a lot when people review and critique. *Kisses* ~Ruthie

What a sad vision of the world if the unthinkable happens! Everyone assumes Harry will win, but what if he doesn't? Poor Ron, the only one who remembers. In some cultures, remembrance is a holy act, and you've portrayed it that way; sacred and heavy and profound. By the time Ron removes his hood at the end, lets himself be seen for who he is, that one small act is a rebellion, flaming red light shining defiantly in the darkness. Beautifully done. Strider

Author's Response: Strider, THANK YOU so much for your review. I am thrilled that you enjoyed this piece. As I was writing this, I knew it would be heavy and filled with deep sadness but I had to show a glimmer of hope, not for the reader, but for myself as I had really been affected by the sadness I created. I am grateful for your review and humbled that you enjoyed it and thought to review. I love your work and appreciate your feedback. ~Ruthie
