I love your story! This is a nice and sweet twist to the "Beauty and the Beast" fairytale. You really captured and preserved the personalities of both characters, which is a hard thing to do. I especially love how you used the heartshape pendent as an indicator of Hermione and Draco's love for each other as well as Draco's heart and life. Can't wait to read more of your work!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, and profuse apologies for the lateness of this response! I haven't been on this site in a very long time, and I didn't even realise I had reviews for this fic! I appreciate your detailed and very gratifying review so much. :-)

I loved it. It's interesting though, maybe it's just me, but my mind went to Cupid and Psyche when I read this. I didn't even think of Beauty and the Beast until you mentioned it. I'm glad that this had a happier ending than Cupid and Psyche had...

Author's Response: Interesting that you thought of Cupid and Psyche immediately. I'm sure you know that the original BaTB was directly inspired by the story of Cupid and Psyche. I love them both and found inspiration in both stories. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, and please accept my apology for responding so late! I only just discovered I had reviews for this story, after being away from this site for a long time.

WICKED!!!!!!!!!11 I just absolutely love your story. I must admit I got a bit bored at the end but only because I've read or watched one form or another of Beauty and the Beast. Very well written and enchanting. Definitly a fav.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm delighted you enjoyed it, even though you were already so familiar with the basic story. Sorry to be so late with my response and thanks; I was away from this site for a long time and had no idea the reviews were here!

Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite story. Only followed by perhaps Phantom of the Opera. I loved the way you wrote your take on it, even if it was a short. If you ever gain an interet in reading one that is a bit longer, and with Lucius, instead of Draco, you might try my story, Beauty Found Within the Beast. Anyway, I do believe that was very excellent and I really did enjoy it very much!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! And thanks for letting me know about your own story too. I would certainly be interested in another take on BATB! It's a favorite of mine as wel!

This was beautifully written and extremely poignant. Good job. The only thing is that Cupid and Psyche is not a Greek myth. The first recording that we have of it is in Apuleis' "Metamorphoses"(or "The Golden Ass" if you want). It is possible that it was written/made up by him just for the purpose of his novel(the only whole Roman novel that we have). That's all! Thanks a bunch.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I checked the reference and you're quite right, its first recorded form is as part of Apuleius' Metamorphoses, but from what I could find out, its origin dates back even further than that, as a Greek folktale that Apuleius then incorporated into his work in the form of a tale told by an old woman. Thanks for pointing this out. I have amended the author's note to reflect it.
