I have always thought there has to be more to Percy than the Harry filter shows us. You have given him depth in the scene you described here. His sense of loyality, the loss he is feeling.

Author's Response: Yes, I have the feeling that we've not seen the last of Percy, and I'm hoping he's going to surprise us pleasantly in the last book. The twins and Ginny were inexcusably nasty to him over Christmas. Hmm, ponders that scene afterwards.

Very nice character sketch; I've often thought Percy may have as much potential for character depth and shadow as Snape does, but not many have chosen to explore him. This was lovely. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. Yes, I'd love to see more written on Percy. I think that his flaws make him so human and a very interesting character.
