I don't know what to think about the white dog. It sounds more substantial than a ghost. Lucius was getting along better with Hermione and then the violence was back. This new world is a violent place. I believe Harry is still alive.

I dunno. I think Ginny is playing into the Malfoys' hands. Hermione may be able to put Lucius off his guard, but is this *really* going to help her escape? At least before, she knew she wasn't compromising. Now, even if she does escape, she'll hate herself for what she's done, most likely. But a well-written story, and I can understand her thoughts and motives, even if I don't agree with them.

Ginny is the lucky one. Draco is not nearly as sadistic as his father is bound to be. Poor, poor Hermione.... The snake handcuffs were a nice touch and very much fit in.
