Oh, yay, an update! I've really enjoyed this story so far ... can't wait to see what happens next. So many cliff-hangers!
And I loved this: "Other than the fact that the Dark Lord had corrupted his child, his life was looking up." Oh, poor Lucius!
Author's Response: Thanks, Lydia. Yes, this update was a long time in coming and I feel bad about that. What can I say? Things happen. Poor Lucius can't get a break can he? Things start going well and something bad has to happen. Hopefully his luck will change soon.
This is getting good! Poor Lucius! Not doing any magic? Hope he gets it back soon. Looking forward to reading the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, kanoni. Lucius is really having a rough time of it, isn't he? You'll see what's going on with his magic in upcoming chapters. :)
ooohhhh!!!! *hops up and down in excitement* ^_^
Author's Response: tei, glad you are enjoying the story. I'll admit your reaction is unique, but it brought a big smile to my face. :) I hope you'll continue to enjoy it. :)
WoW!!!! I am just dancing at the computer... I had to sit on my hands. This story is soo fantastic! You are doing a great job! I look forward to more!
Author's Response: Thanks, Shiloh. I'm working hard trying to finish and polish up the next chapter. I did finally get some work done on it last night. :)
few... i just knew that 'Mione would live up to her 'Cleverest witch of her age' title, and calm down enough to listen to Lucius. :)
and i am really liking the way Remus has become 'a voice of reason/confidant' to the pair.
and i know the path to happness can be winding... but poor 'Mione and Lucius thier's has been ever twisting... but that one of the reasons this is such a great story... Hope your Muses are kind to you... can't wait for more... (that hopefully has them being able to save their daughter and then having 'mione kicking Voldemort backside for all the evil he has caused her love one's.. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks, Trinity. Rational!Hermione did finally make an appearance. I'm glad you've enjoyed the twists and turns of the story to this point. Some of them have been surprises for me along the way...As for where it goes, I think I know, but my muses may choose to change that on me again. Heck, this story was supposed to be over by this point. *wink*
Poor Lucius... i mean i know Hermione has a large amount of emotional baggage over everything that has happened in just a small amount of time, but i still can't help just wanting to knock her upside the head, so maybe she'd open her eyes to see that Lucius is suffing too...
off to the next ch... sure hope Hermione will listen to reason soon.
Author's Response: Yup, poor Hermione has been so wrapped up in her feelings, that she has forgotten about Lucius. Of course, she has been through an awful lot.
Just want to let you know i'm loving this story... the're are so few great Lucius/Hermione stories out there, and this is one of them. (please forgive, for not reviewing before this ch, i was so into the story i hadn't noticed i had made it to ch 10.) ;)
Author's Response: Trinity, no big deal on making it this far without a reveiw. :) There really is a dearth of L/H fic, aren't there? I've had a bout of writer's constipation the last couple of weeks and I'm hoping to get past the trouble scene in the next couple of days. I've started work on another story and am going to work on later scenes of this one and hope I can connect the dots. :)
AAAAArGH! You can't leave it like that! Thanks for the update, you're doing grand!
Author's Response: Thanks, Angel. I'm hoping not to leave it there for too long. I do have a good idea of where I want the next chapter to go, it's just finding the time to write. I did finish up my Deathday entries, but I am running an awards site that is going from nominate to vote tomorrow and making sure that goes smoothly has taken up a lot of time this week. So, if not the end of this week, hopefully I'll have it submitted by Sunday at the latest. Thanks everyone for thier patience.
Very well done indeed. A very nice addition.
Dianara
Author's Response: Thanks, muchly, Dianara. I'm glad that you are enjoying the story.
Another great chapter. I was glad to see Hermione give Lucius a chance to explain. I'm really curious as to how rapidly the child is growing and if that rapid growth can be stopped or slowed. After reading this chapter I had a vision of Hermione encountering a female Death Eater and finding out it's her daughter.
Author's Response: Thanks, malicia. Yes, rational!Hermione is making a reappearance, but the question remains "How long will she stay?" LOL...As for the child, you'll have to wait and see on that one. I'd hate to spoil the surprise. ;)...After all, you don't yet know who took Lucius for what reason.
TEASE! Wonderful, wonderful tease! I check back on this often as I'm so intrigued by where it's going - I would have never guessed when it started that events would transpire this way.... thanks for updating!
Author's Response: LOL You aren't the only one surprised by where this has gone. I had no idea this was where I was going to end up when I started. I had a plot and as I wrote, the muses decided they had a better one. :) I'm hoping for 16 by the end of the week. We'll see.
Oh, I am so glad you updated - I kept checking and checking - mainly because I was trying to find ways to not have to do my assignments...*clears throat*... but I loved this chapter! I'm so glad Hermione is talking to Lucius again - is it Severus who has taken Lucius? And I really hope they can save the child - she's not really a baby now is she... so please I beg of your muses - update soon!!!
Author's Response: Yes, I am so sorry about how long it took to get this update done. My muses gave me a Deathday idea on Tuesday and wouldn't let it be. :D As for who took Lucius, that will be revealed next chapter. I'm hoping to have another update by the end of this week.
This is getting really good! Who took Lucius? Would it be Severus? Looking forward to reading the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, kanoni. There's more info on where Lucius went next chapter. :)
Of course, she's semi-greiving and quite confused and stressed over the status of the baby. She's feeling betrayed all the way around. I think over time, she will start to realize that Lucius loves her in his own twisted way. Hopefully Remus will be successful as an intermediary. Thanks for the post!
Author's Response: Thanks, Lyndie. You really hit on what's going on with Hermione. She's always been bright, so hopefully this won't be when she changes. I think Lucius is beginning to realize how valuable Remus can be, especially as a friend. :)
Great chapter - though sad for Lucius not to be able to talk to Hermione! Jeez! She is a reasonable woman... normally! I look forward to your next update!
Author's Response: Thanks, JTBJAB. Yes, Hermione normally is reasonable, isn't she? Darn pregnancy hormones. Hopefully they will wear off, soo.
Oh dear, what will he have to do to get back into her good books? I assume he does get back into her good books.
Author's Response: Thanks, Shiv, and don't worry. He's not giving up. After all, he's a Slytherin.
This is getting really good! Poor Lucius! Trying to explain everything to Hermione and she won't listen. Looking forward to reading the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, kanoni, he really is having a rough time. He thinks he turns a corner, and then, WHAM! A door slams in his face. Thankfully, he's persistent.
Ouch! Again I say, Ouch! I have learned in my readings of HP that Hermione *never* let Ron and Harry's predjudice entice her decisions. Her pregnancy horomones must be kicking in hard
Author's Response: Thanks, Dianara. He really is having a tough time, isn't he? And poor Hermione is on her hormonal roller coaster and making it worse. Of course, Lucius has not read the books and doesn't know that she wouldn't let Ron and Harry influence her. ;)
Yea, another update! Lucius, for all his cunning, is letting himself be ruled by emotion too much. Any lovesick fool would try to talk to her the minute she came in the door - but a clever man would choose a more opportune time (and method) to plead his case. I think he truly is smitten with her, despite his plotting! Curious to see what Shape's up to.
Author's Response: Ah yes, he did do the obvious, but why did he do it? Would she think he was sincere if he wasn't waiting for her? Remember, he has written a couple of letters. He may be succumbing to his emotions, but he is still Slytherin. *wink* Amazingly, I have found a way to continue to work Snape into this story. He'll pop up from time to time as he is definitely up to something. :)
Awesome story so far! I love it. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank, harpiebird. Welcome to the roller coaster. I hope you will enjoy the rest of it.
It's time for Hermione to get well and get up and kick some butt!!
Author's Response: Yes, TN, it sure is. Keep reading and see how her recovery goes. :)
I'm still worried about the baby ^^;;; can't you see I'm chewing on my knuckles in anticipated suspense? ^^
Author's Response: Thanks, tei. It is a very nervewracking situation, isn't it? Please, blame my muses. They love the evil cliffhanger. More is coming soon.
I just discovered your fic today after venturing cautiously out of Ashwinder for a bit. I have enjoyed your Lucius so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens!
Author's Response: Welcome aboard the roller coaster, Somigliana. I try to get up dates no more than once a week. :) This is a much different Lucius than the one in the book and I'm glad you are enjoying it.
poor hg! and poor lm. they shouldn't be sending him back to azkaban for this.
Author's Response: Lucius really does seem to be getting the short side of the stick, doesn't he? Keep reading to see what happens next. Thanks for reviewing, Makalani. :)
I'm going to reserve judgement on those muses of yours until I see what they force you to do. Great chapter though, so I guess they can't be leading you too far astray.
Author's Response: Thanks, Owlbait. They do have a lot of good ideas, but they do have quite the cruel streak. :) They do make the story interesting for me as I have been known to make major plot rewrites on very short notice. Nothing like having the author surprised about where the story is going. LOL
