Beautiful story. I'm so glad that fanfic is discovering Lucius these days (Severus is OK, but he's not the only one). Lucius is not easy to write and he easily runs OOC, but not here: you do a great job emphasizing his humanity without changing his canon character too much.
Author's Response: Woot! I'm glad you liked this one too! No, Severus isn't the only one, but he's got a lot more canon depth to play with. I've been grateful that people have pushed me to discover Lucius a bit more as well - he offers some good possibilities. I'm pleased that you liked him in this piece and found him in keeping with his canon self.

This is a really well-written piece.

You did such a good job with Lucius. It is much easier to think of the bad guys as two-dimensional demons. But, of course, that can’t be true all of the time. Bad guys have people they love, too and it was very interesting to see the side of Lucius that loved Draco and Narcissa and rearranged some of his prejudices for Lily.
And how the Wizarding World would have been different if Harry and Draco had been raised as brothers!

Author's Response: Yay! Thank you for reviewing. I'm gratified that you like Lucius - he was most definitely one-dimensional until DH, when we saw how deeply he cared for wife and son. It was an interesting challenge to write him with Lily, especially since the age of their children are essentially all the canon characters have in common. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
