Yes, I like this. Most definitely like this. *grins* This is probably one of the few times that I find myself annoyed with Sirius. I usually find him endearing...
-Mel
Author's Response: Thanks, Mel. Sirius and Wendy are real jerks to each other, him more to her than the other way around. Hopefully future chapters will show more of Sirius and Remus' friendship and he won't seem like so much of a jerk. :)...Glad you liked this. It was a big mark for me to finally hit this point. No one can accuse me of rushing. *cheesy grin*
Well! That makes two very nice dates. Will we see lemons on the critical third date? How will this affect their working relationship, especially if Wendy pulls the prostitute routine again? Oh, so many questions, eagerly awaiting updates...
Author's Response: Thanks, winna. Lemons of some kind are coming in the future, the rating kind of hints toward it, doesn't it? This could definitely have an effect on their working relationship, couldn't it? This next chapter has required more rewriting than others since I had a huge time jump to advance other plot points and forgot to come back and fill it in. :)
Good, good. I still think your Remus a little naive, but I liked him in this chapter. And I liked to see that Wendy has a human side.
Author's Response: Gina, thanks for sticking with it. I've been feeling him out a bit, probably like he's been feeling out his new partner. I know it can be hard to read a fic that has one of the canon characters portrayed a little differently than you have in your mind, though I have found many of those enjoyable once I accept the characterization...Yeah, she does have a human side, she's just been hiding it for a long time. It just took us a while to find out about her past.
Remus took Sirius' attempts at ruining his date very well. If it were me, I'd have slapped him for that "she's out of your class" line. But Remus is always such a nice guy, I can see why he'd cut Sirius some slack. I'm still all curious about that ring, and a little disturbed that Wendy gave it to Snape instead of having it destroyed. I still trust her, she's just a bit of a maverick. Oh, and I love DoubleStandard!Sirius, complaining about Wendy not following rules; like he has ever followed rules in his life! Great story, just keep 'em coming!
Author's Response: winna, glad you liked how I handled it. Remus is a little hard to write for because where most of us would have blown up, Sirius is his last close friend and he already admitted to cutting him and James a lot of slack...Isn't DoubleStandard!Sirius fun? I figured he's one of those "I'll follow the rules when it suits me, but the rest of you better toe the line."...As for the ring, wait and see. I actually lost that plot line in my first draft and am having to weave it back in. Ooops. Anyway, you know those Slytherins, always sticking together. ;)
Post soon! I'm enjoying this story. I really like Remus.
Author's Response: samckenzie, glad you are enjoying it. I didn't used to be that big a Remus fan until I started writing his character in a another fic. He's really grown on me. I'm hoping for at least one update a week.
Well, she is stubborn! And I'm under the impression that you don't like the Maradeurs, at least you don't like Sirius, because he is a prat in this story. But Wendy is not a nice girl either; they both have prejudices and are rather imature. Poor Remus!
Author's Response: Yup, both are rather immature and are holding stupid grudges against each other. Perhaps they'll be able to get past that at some point, but considering Sirius and Severus still go each other I'm not holding out much hope that Sirius will drop the grudge. I'm enjoying writing for a character that's a bit of a bitch for right now. Let's see if she can let go of some of that stupidity.
I still think Wendy is trustworthy, so I'm not worried about her running off with the ring. My guess is she went to the Ministry to have it destroyed right away. But I'm dying from curiosity over just what is so lethal about the darn thing!!??!! Oh, and I hope Wendy shares her blanket rescue story with Severus; he needs a good laugh at Sirius's expense.
Author's Response: winna, thanks again for the review. I'm glad you do trust her. It's always nice for her to have someone on her side, especially with Sirius being as snippy as he is. I really couldn't resist with that blanket and I'm glad you think Severus would really appreciate the humor of the situation, as well. Hopefully I'll have more up in a week or so. Depends on my travel schedule and access to a computer.
What a difficult woman! She's horrible, I liked her before, but now I think she is really stuborn, imature and I hate prejudices. The fact that she feels guilty about that werewolf is not an excuse for her hatred. I don't tolerate prejudices of any kind, not even in fiction. What is worst, she put them in danger and still treats Remus like dirt. I have to say I'm curious to know how you will handle their relationship from here.
Author's Response: Yeah, she really is a bit a of a bitch. Mostly from bitterness. That must be a Slytherin trait. :) Question is, can she get beyond all that baggage? All will be revealed in time. A chunk of her hatred also has to do with him being Sirius' friend. Those two are like oil and water.
Good update; that Sirius sure knows how to piss people off! Interesting how Wendy allows Severus to help her, but won’t go to a professional healer. I’m sure there’s some backstory there. I also thought it was kind of her not to badmouth James while talking to Harry. She has a surprising amount of compassion for a Slytherin (Heh, there I go buying into stereotypes. Bad, naughty Winna!)
Glad to hear your man is coming home! Yes, I’ll miss the regular updates, but I hope you enjoy your time with your husband.
Author's Response: Thanks, Winna. Yeah, Sirius really knows how to hold a grudge, doesn't he? That's actually been a fun little bonus to the writing. I honestly hadn't planned on using him that much, but he's such an antagonist. :) As for badmouthing James, that really wouldn't have accomplished much and she's not one to go around holding most grudges. The werewolf one has been a little hard for her to give up. Maybe our favorite werewolf can change that. :)
As for the Severus vs. a professional healer, that was purely to keep the wrong people from asking questions. As for backstory between the two of them...time will tell.
I'm still hoping to get one more chapter out in the next 20 hours or so.
I must be a Slytherin, since I agree with Wendy on all her arguments with Remus. Oh, I understand Remus’ point of view, but really, only a Gryffindor would think they could win this war without getting their hands dirty. It’s interesting that Remus recognized that Wendy’s spells were remarkably like those the Marauders used as children. I suppose latent guilt over his adolescent behavior is part of his animosity towards her. I’m still quite engrossed with this story and looking forward to more updates.
Author's Response: Thanks, winna. You did a good job picking up on the latent guilt. I've always been amazed when people come to recognize themselves in others and suddenly realize what an ass they were. I'm having fun playing with the minor House pettiness that seems to be pervasive between Gryffindors and Slytherins. They really are very similar and I think it causes problems....More updates will be coming. Hopefully two this week, and then it may be a little while as I'm going on vacation.
Well, she's a bitch! I like her. But I think you're picturing Remus as some kind of fool. For God's sake, the guy was one of the best Hogwarts' students and the best DADA teacher ever, not to mention the fact that he is an Order member. He is acting like a real fool, only doing stupid things. Oh, and I almost forgot: he was one of the Maradeurs, he sure knows how to be sneaky.
Author's Response: Yeah, you nailed that one on the head, she is quite a bitch....As for Remus, I was starting him off with JKR's premise that his biggest weakness is his desire to be liked and accepted by others. Once he starts to figure her out a bit, he asserts himself some more. As for the Marauder part, I don't think he was the mastermind, but he was not useless like Peter. I think he feels some guilt for letting James and Sirius getting away with what they did, he pretty much admits that in OotP. So, don't worry, he won't be comic relief....Again, thanks for taking the time to review.
Not Bad work at all. Put a little more decription in your work
Author's Response: Thanks, Graybear. I'll see what I can do to beef up the descriptions in future chapters. If you've got anything more specific and want to drop me an email, that would be welcome.
Oh, this is getting really good. I like Remus as much as the next fangurl, but it’s kind of refreshing to see someone dislike him for reasons other than his lycanthropy. He was acting like a rookie and deserved the scolding Wendy gave him, in my opinion. I liked Wendy’s attitude, and her take on Slytherin/Gryffindor attitudes. Hopefully that was her behind that stunner, or else this may turn into a pretty short fic…
Author's Response: Thanks, winna. The lycanthropy is part of the reason her dislike, but he's adding other things to it, like associating with Sirius. ;)...I kind of like trying add in bits about the Slytherin/Gryffindor head butting from the Slytherin side. Harry gives us the Gryff side, so this is refreshing for me. As for the stunner, that will be revealed in the next chapter.
This sounds like a promising beginning. I am curious to see how well Wendy will will work with our most beloved werewolf.
Author's Response: Thanks lemltd98. I think this story is a fun journey. I'm going to try to submit a new chapter every 4 or 5 days. I've got 14 chapters written so far, I just need to make sure they are ready to go. :)

Nice set up. Wendy seems like an interesting character, and there's definitely some sort of backstory with her family and husband. It will be interesting to see how she gets along with Remus.
Author's Response: Thanks. There is some interesting backstory for her that gets revealed bit by bit. And it most definitely shapes her relationship with our favorite werewolf. Thanks again for leaving a review.
