You have managed to perfectly capture the terrified innocence of childhood trauma with an excellent writing style and vivid imagination. I love it!

Author's Response: Thank you :)

I enjoyed this one-shot very much! I thought the writing was very sensitive and authentic. It was very believable and one could easily take it all for pure canon information. I loved the introductory verses and the way you used them at strategic moments; it really brought a lot to the emotional intensity of your piece. Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yes, I had an idea to do a one-shot on the night Remus was bitten, and that little poem just solidified it.

Good story!
I love it. Very sad, but is great to see someone writing about what it felt for a young child to be a werewolf.

That was fantastic. The poem was so perfect for it too. I remember reciting that with my mother when I was little, and... *sniffle* You did a wonderful job of capturing the story from the viewpoint of a small child. Fantasitc!

Author's Response: Awww, thanks! Yes, as I said, that poem really pulled it all together. Once I found that, the story wrote itself.

This story took all outside coherent thought away because I was so wrapped up in the emotional state of the story. I truly enjoyed the oppotunity to explore how Remus came to be a werewolf. Your story was so detailed that it could definitely compete with the canon works. (I don't say that often to fan fiction authors either.) The poem was too perfect, and then ending broke my heart. Just the way that his family treated him, saddens me so much. Especially the treatment by his older brother, whom Remus obviously loved and looked up to. I couldn't believe that Roman would throw that book at poor, little Remus' forehead like that. Excellent story. I hope that you continue writing stories like this one. All the best, Danielle (betagirl23@yahoo.com) P.S. I tried to find you on FanFiction.Net to add you to my favorites list and whatnot, but I could not find you on there.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you! I had an idea for a while to write such a story - Remus' bite - from his point of view. It was inspired by a contest topic at the Harry Potter Lexicon FFF site (this was never entered, though, I wrote this about a month after that contest). The poem just made everything else click! I dont have anythig up at FanFiction.net. A while back ago, I tried to create an account there and my computer and its programing aren't compatible. I do, however, have other stories posted on Sycophant Hex; three in Lumos and two in Occlumency. Again, thanks for your kind words!

“I was very young when I was bit” You have done a great job of capturing the emotion and angst of the event. This was a wonderful story that I very much enjoyed reading. It is hard enough just raising a husband and two cats; I can’t imagine raising a werewolf, even if it was poor Remus! I loved your characterization and thoughts of a young Remus – fly a broomstick to the moon, with a goldfish bowl on the head. *grins* Are you the Pigwidgeon of Oracle fame?

Author's Response: Thanks everyone for your kind remarks! Glad you enjoy this. Wolf Moonshadow -- umm, no, I don't believe so. Until the past couple of weeks, I had only posted my fics on one other site, at the Harry Potter Lexicon Fanfic Forum. Since then, I've decided to spread my wings and branch out a bit.

oh my, oh my, oh my! This was FANTASTIC!! Sahra told me to read this and I told her that I was sick of HP fanfiction...it's all the same, blah, blah, blah. But this was WONDERFUL. And heart wrenching. i will be reading Grudge Match on Occlumency too.
