You're story is awesome. It kind of reminds me of Queer As Folk except in a Harry Potter fashion. I love it.
This story completely broke my heart and gave me a new view of that part of the world. I'm starting to volunteer for an organization that provides peer counseling and companionship for AIDS/HIV patients in SF because of this story. Thank you.
This story was emotionally evoking to say the very least, it captured the essence of the characters as i thought, only Rowling could do. The chemistry between Harry and Draco was simulated effortlessly, and made me become personally invested in their endeavors. Snape's opinion of the way the AIDS virus is being handled, parallels, and confronts many beliefs of people today, and was an extremely clever way to tie the idea of fate into this story, and in turn Draco's demise. This story was absolutely heartwrenching, and beyond the heat between the two young wizards, there was a heartfelt story that left me with a bittersweet feeling of compassion and sympathy for Harry and Draco's situation, and love for one another. Much more than just a hash sex story; Simply beautiful.
that was really *sob* sad!! I expected that Draco's son would call Harry Dad, it just made since, I guess.
I loved it, even if it was heartbreaking!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Aaah I hate you, you made me cry at the end, I love draco! i hate that you gave death and added some more bad news (They couldn't be together in the portraits)
i loved the plot, though i wish it had a better ending, but thats life.
Author's Response: Well, it's a bit open. Harry has some time to change political minds to let him be with him :)
*sob* that was a wonderful story! This was the second fanfic EVER to make me cry. I loved the Draco you created. He was perfect. Also it was a well executed plot. Thank you for writing something so real and raw while using our favorite charaters.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!
I loved your story really I did :) It was sad that Draco had to die though I was so hoping they would find some way to cure him.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, it was sad that he had to die, but he wasn't really gone, fortunately ;)
Oh, geez, what a heartbreaker. At least Draco's boy has a father, and Harry gets to talk to Draco every day. Good story. For a bizarre minute, I thought you were going to have Harry turn to Snape after Draco died, then he was dismissed.
Thanks for the story.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading! Yes, Ursius had a father and it was some sort of life. I don't know if, absent the portrait to talk to, Harry could've let his anger with Snape over Dumbledore go enough to really be with him, but there was some tension!
This is a very compelling read with a great plot, I'm looking forward to reading more of it.
Author's Response: thank you. Hopefully I'll have the final chapter up in the next couple of weeks.
Draco's situation is so sad. It seems... so real. Makes me want to cry, really. (and he's just fiction!) Well, the seed you planted with Snape wasn't just a red herring after all. With that last paragraph I kind of wonder if Snape is one of the bad guys in trugh, but am hoping for another outcome. Lucius is still scary. Yikes. Does he have Draco? He was too creepy, and in canon Snape is described as "Lucius' lapdog."
Author's Response: Nope. Snape was hinting not to get involved, although self-centeredly mostly ;) Lucius is, alas, really still in Azkaban.
Well there goes that guess! You write a tough mystery. I like it.
Author's Response: I'm trying to ;)
Snape knows what's going on, doesn't he!! He tried warning Harry off, but Harry was so busy being jealous that he didn't catch on. My heart is breaking thinking of Draco dying. Wonder if he could just polyjuice a new body. *sniff* Harry would still love him!! I'm wondering who is using Lucius' body. Is it Voldemort? He has great rapport with dementors. By the way, Nott is Tonks, isn't he? She is an animorphmagus. Snape said that 'it' was bigger than them, and now Harry and Draco are essentially warned off. Whoever it is knows enough about the boys to know what they were doing, but didn't exactly want them dead. Very odd. And Snape knows all about it, too. If you wanted Snape to be a sick, horrible bastard, you might have him responsible for the church by having him toy with the dead to see if he could find a decent one to 'save' Draco with. (Said Draco to Harry "give me YOUR body". It's your fault my mind went there, you know! ;D ) At any rate, I was glad to see the update. This is an interesting, if heartbreaking story and you write it well.
Author's Response: She is an animorphmagus, although Harry did see she and Nott at the same time ;)
Aww Harry's so sweet! I can't wait for the next one you come out with!
Author's Response: Should be out very soon ;)
eeep! such suspense! Wonderful story so far. Please update!
Author's Response: Soon, soon. I promise. I just got caught up in another WiP :|
It was really good until you got to chapter 4, and things started to get a little weird.
Author's Response: Yes, that's when the plot kicked in.
A rearly difficult and interesting subject to tackle, but once again you brought tenderness and caring to your charactrisation. A very emotionally compelling story... excellent.
Author's Response: thanks so much!
love it! thanks for updating! you do good work.
emily
Author's Response: thanks so much!
lol, I just have to tell you first off that I have the urge to listen to the Cure every time I see your name. Okay, on to the story. This chapter makes me sad, as it illustrates Draco's mortality in quite the vivid way. Watching his son in the picture telling him he loves his daddy just about did me in. Harry still hasn't told Draco his son's message!! *sniff* And Draco's glamours!!! Poor guy, he's in really bad shape at this time. Snape's potions unfortunately seem pretty limited. Harry seems to be wonderfully accepting of Draco, aids and all. It's nice to see. And it does seem true that he and Draco wouldn't have had the relationship they did if Draco had been healthy, which is a bit tragic, really. All that time wasted when they could have been together. Oh... I do have a (probably) silly question. I hate hate hate showing my ignorance, but it's going to have to happen if I ever want to know. I actually tried to look it up and failed, pretty sad, eh? So, er, um.... whatisacossack? Apparently it is clothing...
Anyway, nice update. Always happy to see this story continuing.
Author's Response: A cossack is the name for those long tunic robes that priests wear ;)
I just watched Philidelphia this morning, listened to Rent all afternoon as I did homework, and now I got to read this. It's like AIDS day or something. I don't know, that just amused me. Anyway, very nice chapter. I especially liked their discussion about Draco's will...brought a noticable lump to my throat. Continue soon.
Author's Response: Haha I saw Philadephia for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I tend to avoid things like that as they get me depressed. Ironic, huh? Although I read a couple of books about AIDS and some life accounts of it. I don't know much about Rent yet. :D
thanks for updating! I am really loving the way they are together. It's quite realistic that it would be very much like this if they were real life. I love th poignant moments.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I fretted a little that the time was rather compressed, but Draco does feel a sense of urgency. :)
having previously read you 'and my eyes burn naked'i am very pleased to find a continuance. because you couldnt just leave draco and us like that. your continuance exceeds expectations. your plot is more interesting than i dared hope. i wonder where you'll take it. i like your clueless and obsessing over malfoy harry and your 'got bigger fish to fry that worry over potter' draco.
just one little critisism. have they all moved to the US somehow? because with dimes and dinners and churchgoing families it doesnt really remind me of britain much.
Author's Response: Hm.. so in Britain it's all empty churches? :) That's pretty surprising. I do get what you're saying, but it's part of the story I want to tell. This won't be all things to all people and well, that's ok. People are free to not pay me if they don't like it ;)
Ah, these men have my sympathy. And Harry is falling in love with Draco. (yay) I bet he wasn't asleep.
I'm still buzzing about the possibility that Nott is not. I wonder who he is, can an inferi socialize/interact with the living? Is he Draco in disguise? Unless the Nott they killed wasn't him at all, his presense is quite creepy. This adds quite the layer to his discussions with Tonks. I hope Tonks doesn't end up 'finding religion'. (Yikes) Speaking of hopes, Snape needs to find Draco a cure, too!! (I know, this isn't a story restaurant..."What plot twist would you like this evening, Madame?" I'm just venting my feelings.) :D Quite the story vortex you have going. I'm sucked in.
Author's Response: Well, Harry seems pretty passionate that Nott isn't Nott, and that he knows he's dead ;) Hmm? Well, Inferi can do that in a limited capacity, although it hasn't occured to Harry that Nott could be one, so that might say something about the nature of how dead he knows Nott is ;)
Glad you're enjoying it!
Beautiful chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Ewww!!!! Draco was with an inferi? Your story pulls me in as much as it makes me uncomfortable. You make me want to know all about Draco, what he's gotten himself into and his feelings about Harry. He's canon, with a twist. He's not going to be nice to anyone, but he seems to care all the same. ('scarhead' as his portkey trigger) Can't wait to find out the inferi plot. And the church thing is sinister. It's not the first time someone has taken messages of love and twisted it to serve agendas. Won't be the last. It seems to fit into the story so well. Can't wait for an update. Looking forward to more. (It's so hard to read good w.i.p.s, you're dying to find out more, but must wait. I'm as impatient as your Harry ;)
Author's Response: *giggles* The man Draco was with wasn't an Inferi at the time! :) He was converted to one after. I promise! He's not quite that slutty ;) I think religion has been mutated to fit other people's agendas quite often, it can be handy for that as people don't really expect it, I suppose. Thanks for reading!
Wow...where on earth do you come from, and can I move in?
Author's Response: Haha maybe it's not earth? Muhaha ;)
