Dunno how I missed reviewing this last time I read it. It was a fun read, and a clever scenario. Political opponents who nevertheless have a use for each other - great idea! Many people get Lucius right in a Lucius/Hermione story, but as often as not Hermione is not herself. Glad to see you've kept her Hermione!

Oooh! I am happy she didn't fall for his crap! An interesting agreement. I am jsut starting a fic (my first) that will end up, I hope, with Hermione as Minister for Magic. Your idea of Lucius and Hermione using each other for the appearance of support is wonderful. I must be careful not to steal it!
Anyway, Lucius is killed in the first chapter, the final battle, in my story, so I will not be so tempted to resurect him to steal your idea.

This was a lot of fun to read. I particularly enjoyed the part where Lucius "began again, and stopped, trying to figure out where he lost control." Thanks for posting.

If this is a duplicate review, I apologize ... I just tried to review, but I don't think it showed up. So, here it goes again:
This was so much fun to read! I kept hoping that Hermione was playing Lucius, but I was never quite sure who really had the upper hand! And you did a great job with the characters. I loved Lucius's p.o.v. For example, I adored this line because it gave so much insight into his character: "while he was a passionate advocate for traditional Wizarding values, there was something to be said for the cut and drape of the new style. On a purely aesthetic level, of course." Wicked sense of humor, always on the prowl, but still that conservative Lucius! And you did a great job with Hermione, too; she's cunning but still got heart. Lovely story! Thanks!
