Wow, the third person point of view is very effective here. I have questions about a couple of things, though. Did James put a silencing spell on Calyxa? Did Sirius REALLY promise to stop hexing everyone? And were they really arguing about her telling Mme Pomphrey about his injuries?
I can just imagine what's going to happen.
ANyway, another great chapter.
Author's Response: To answer your questions: Yes, James put a silencing charm on her; Sirius did promise to stop hexing people becasue of her; and the truth is that they were arguing about her telling Madam Pomphrey about the injuries.
Uh oh, I can see right away what's going to happen since she told Severus: "he would certainly try to hurt you if you boasted of such a thing.” Of course, he seems to expect it, so maybe he'll keep his mouth shut.
Will we ever find out if kissing him really was revolting for her?
Anxiously waiting for the next chapter!
Author's Response: In the far-off future, we will hear that Calyxa doesn't find him "revolting". (That's what she thinks about butterbeer!) But it will be a while before we get there.

Is there a mistake of some kind in the second chapter? Posted the wrong one, maybe? 'Cos I don't really see the point in claiming that the chapter is Chapter 2: An Old Friend, and then it's really Chapter 24: What Alvise Venier and Peziza di Janarra Saw... Seemed to be exactly the same text as in the Chapter 25. I'm puzzled. Though the story is good, even when I have a feeling that something is missing...
Author's Response: Odd. I've fixed it, but I know it wasn't like that when they changed over from Wolfsbame, particluarly since I hadn;t written the chaptr abpout Calyxa's parents yet at that point...
It has to be said that I love your characterizations. Sirius is a scream! It's sad that really good-=looking people can get away with such crap! The choice of Jillian to narrate this was brilliant, too. Is she noticing some of the romantic inclinations of Calyxa and Remus? ANd does Calyxa really fancy Prof. Flitwick in the way they mean??
Author's Response: Jillian notices the sweetness between them, but she's distracted by Sirius. She hardly notices what Remus and Calyxa are doing or saying. And Calyxa does certainly have a big crush on Flitwick (she remembers this back in the chapter "The Lecture").
Poor Jillian. Excellent chapter, as always. Everyone seems so well in character. I am really looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it.
Hilarious!
Zen! I love it! James is right, that WAS the worst line ever. I adore the interplay among the Marauders, and Lily is just perfect too. I was laughing through the whole thing. I'd like to read more about your version of Hogwarts in this era. I hope you write this and the next whole school year .
Author's Response: All good things must come to an end, and we'll only hear about this era until Calyxa has to leave.
*squeals with delight* Oh, you write James and Lily so brilliantly! And you even brought in Peter. Most leave him out because of... well, you know. I love your Lily. She's perfect. And James is awesome as well. You already know how I feel about your Remus and Sirius. This chapter is great.I'm so looking forward to more with the Marauders and Lily! Yay!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it! (Lily is a fun character to write.)
How did I miss this?! Oh my, this is wonderful. I must move on to the next chapter quickly. Young Calyxa is different than her older self. This shall be VERY interesting!!!
Author's Response: She is very different but also has the seeds of what she will become already sprouting...
Very nice, Zen. So, all Janarra are empaths? Interesting (did you get that from Star Trek?) Interesting tutors, as well! This is going to be an eventful school year, I think! I do feel sorry for Calyxa, though. She really suffers, doesn't she?
Author's Response: It's all the Janarra. As the old COntessa says, the usual abilities and weaknesses. And I did kind of get it from Start Trek (TNG) (you're far too clever for your own good, Lady Legrace!) It is certainly going to be a VERY eventful school year, and Calyxa really does suffer, poor thing.
I'm very glad that she's forgiven poor Remus, that silly man, but Zen! Yikes! What kind of hold does the old lady have on him? And does this mean we're finally going to hear about what REALLY happened between Calyxa and Sirius? *Waiting patiently for the next chapter.*
Author's Response: The answers to all these questions (and more) are coming your way very soon. Glad you're enjoying it, Lady Legrace.
Oh, you little sneak. You've left us on quite a little cliffhanger here, left us wanting MORE! You've also left us with many, many questions. Such as, did Remus have a... fling with Caylxa's mother? Why did Caylxa ask for Filch and the twins to come to her office before she left? I have many more questions, but I will wait dilligently for the next chapter. I certainly am going to try and be patient, but I am really looking forward to it.
Author's Response: Ha! Yes, many things we don't know (one of the reasons I call this a "mystery"), but nothing earth-shattering. First of all, Remus did not have any kind of sexual relationship with (or feelings towards) Calyxa's mother. On the other hand, there was something just as poeerful and primal - between them. Calyxa asked for Filch to make arrangements about his continued training in the Squib Program after she had left the school. And she wanted to say goodbye to Fred and George before she left. Otherwise, it would have been rude.
This story is beautiful and I am so glad I discovered it! I hope it will last for many many other happy chapters... because, romantic as I am, I hope in a happy ending... Will I be disappointed? Only Zen Lady knows! I can only hope she likes her characters as much as I do, the dear, charming Contessa in particular. I dedicated this Italian proverb to this story: "Nella guerra di Amor, vince chi fugge", that is "in the battle of Love, the winner is the one who runs away" (sorry for this horrid translation). It seems particularly indicated for Calyxa and Remus. Who of them will be the lucky one to be caught first?
Author's Response: I don't think anything can be truly happy AND satisfying at the same time. Let's go for bittersweet. As for the quote, I think I understand it as meaning that the one who doesn't fight gets love? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, I think Remus will be the one to run, silly man, and Calyxa is not one for pursuit.
When I saw the warning for language at the top, I was wondering "what on earth could she have written?" To tell you the truth, not only was Sirius's language appropriate, I hardly noticed that it was foul. On the other hand... I think he and Calyxa would make a cute couple. Now I'm torn. I think Remus loves her and she loves him, but what about poor Sirius (who's my favorite character)? Anyway, breathlessly waiting for more.
Author's Response: I'm getting fonder of Sirius by the minute, but I can't imagine that he and Calyxa could ever be happy together. I think she'd kill him. ;-)
...
Every time I read about post-Azkaban Sirius, I tear up. I don't know how, but you've made me love Calyxa even more. And your Sirius is perfect. This chapter... the emotion throughout... it's enough to turn me into a babbling mess if I don't stop now. *laughs* I don't know which I liked more, her kissing him or him telling her to get past Remus' secondhand robes. That whole scene... no, the whole chapter is just wonderful. I can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, Jynx. I'm glad you're enjoying this. I have to agree - this chapter is one of my favorites. My most poignant/sweet moment is when Sirius asked if Amanita was Remus's daughter. It makes you wonder what "Padfoot" was thinking when she gave up her sweets to buy him a bone!
Wow... reading one of your stories is like watching the movie "The Sting": you can see the setup, and you know it's all leading up to something, but you[re not sure what kinds of twists and turns it's going to take! I am very interested in the ritual that she performed, if that's the root of Severus's obsession with the Janarra. And I hope she makes up with Remus soon! That poor man needs to be kissed!
Author's Response: The Sting?? Ha! I'll never live up to the comparison! No Robert Redford and Paul Newman here!
Another brilliant chapter. I believe now I know who this elusive wizard is for whom she is pining. :) Nicely done. I will be very sad when this story ends. I absolutely adore your characters and characterization of JK's characters. Excellent.
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the story, Jynx. I'm having way too much fun writing it to end it any time soon. The next chapter will probably raise more questions than answer them (we finally get to see Sirius).
Oh dear... Remus really did ruin it. Poor guy. I simply adore Amanita. She is so wonderful and free. I love how she picked up on Sirius, er, Padfoot right off. How sweet of her to give up her sweets money to get him a bone! Calyxa is going to really hurt Remus when she finds out. He's going to finally know the wrath of a woman lied to.
Author's Response: This chapter drive my beta-readers mad! That's what happens when the scene is told from a child's point of view. It was a lot of fun to write, as you can imagine.
I don't know how many times I laughed out loud while I was reading this chapter. Here are some of my favorites:
"Severus suspected that the werewolf was guarding her from other men in the territorial way of the lower animals.";
"'All men are wolves,' she said without any hint of amusement.";
"'Oh, Severus!' she laughed. 'Do you really think I have been seducing schoolboys?'";
"'Careful, Professor Snape,' Calyxa shot back. 'I might have to give you a detention if you refuse to answer my question.'";
"'Certainly,' she replied, looking from Snape to Lupin and back, 'for I have always had a weakness for naughty boys.'"
When did Remus tell her that they could only be friends????? I don't remember reading that! He obviously didn't mean it (the big doofus!).
Please tell me that all will be revealed very soon!
(Great job, as usual!)
Author's Response: All will be revealed, but not very soon. Eventually. ;-D
Another wonderful and very interesting chapter. I feel kind of sorry for poor Remus, and I want to know what really happened between them in the past! I mean, they're obviously in love with each other, but for some reason, they don't let the other one get too close. Also, there's the Sirius part of the equation. What's going on with that? Was she Sirius's girlfriend but Remus was secretly in love with her? I hope we'll find out soon!
Author's Response: Thanks for your patience, Lady Legrace. All these questions and more will be answered as the story unfolds.
Oooh, I like Jillian. This was another excellent chapter. Very interesting theory on Wolfsbane and the moonlight. I'm interested to see what happens next. Calyxa is such a tease, but Remus did ask for it. I'm willing to bet she did it all for Snape. Especially after his remark about her bedding the "beast". *shudder* Snape can be such an arse. You portray him so well. I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter!
Author's Response: I had way too much fun writing this scene, and my beta-readers had too much fun suggesting little tweaks. We all like torturing poor Remus a little bit too much, I think. :-D
Yay! Chapter! A bit of a bridge chapter, though. Silly Remus and his gentleman ways. I love the talk between George and Calyxa. Very nice. She should smack Remus upside the head, though. :) Keep going!
Author's Response: I don't think Calyxa would ever smack anyone, but she'll eventually get in some kind of ladylike equivalent. ;-)
This whole scene is absolutely wonderful. (Well, I suppose it's actually two scenes...) Poor Remus! Why doesn't he just ask her whose dressing gown it is? Men can be so damn proud! The scene when Remus and Calyxa were hugging in the hallway was just breathtaking, so sad and beautiful. They're both such emotional wrecks, aren't they? And I'm still wondering what went on between her and Sirius when they were younger.
Can't wait for more....
Author's Response: I think that the real reason he doesn't ask her is that he really doesn't know. With even a little doubt in his mind, he can pretend. If he asked her and she told him that she was in love with another man, well, then poor remus couldn't even fantasize anymore.
This is so sweet. They really are falling in love, though, aren't they?
Author's Response: There's not very far to fall, is there? :-D
Another well written chapter. I sincerely love your interaction between Remus and Calyxa. He's so overprotective and zealous. She's so... innocent seeming. Your descriptions are fantastic. This story just keeps getting better and better. Thanks so much for letting us read this masterpiece.
Author's Response: Thanks, Jynx. A masterpiece? Wow. I don't think I've gotten such a compliment in ages! Remus is really a complex character - very sweet and gentle but he has his share of darkness. And Calyxa does often seem innocent and vulnerable, which she is, in some ways. , despite being worldly and urbane.
Wow... excellent chapter. I like the interaction between Remus and Calyxa. The way Remus realizes they are both just lonely. That is so like him. And Filch... that part is great! You have him down so well. I really enjoy this story and cannot wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Jynx, thanks for taking the time to respond! The next couple of chapters will feature a lot of action - and even more frustration. And Filch will prove useful in the end, nbut it's a long way in the future.
