I can honestly say that I have never felt the need to actually review a story until now. I absolutely loved it! I'm sitting here at almost 4 AM with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I love imagining a sweet, caring side to Draco and you have pulled that off brilliantly! I really love the touches about Narcissa and flying. I am an instant fan and I believe that I would actually read "Healing the Wounds" over and over again. Please keep more stories like this one coming. Thank You!

Author's Response: Wow... I'm... wow... speechless. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that my story touched you so much. I believe that there is a caring side to Draco, even in canon... it's only certain people that get to see him that way, however. That he's come to trust Hermione enough to let her see it speaks volumes on how much the war and its aftermath have changed him. I'm glad that I was able to convey that believably. I thank you so very much for reading and for taking the time to leave me such an encouraging review. You've made my day!

Hello there! I just finished your story and I wanted to tell you what a gem it is! There were many clever touches of humour here and there; Snape was very canon and still humorous in his own way. I liked the manner in which the other characters were different from the canon way, in many aspects, but still made a lot of sense because of the evolution "feel" we got from your depiction of them. The pace was wonderful; you created a very nice sexual tension between Draco and Hermione (though I thought that the dream was a tad too long; I admit I did not read it all). I really loved the complexities and nuances every character has; Harry's melancholy was an original way of making him evolve. The style was also very strong, elaborate without being too heavy; many beautiful metaphors and images in there! You did not nearly get a fraction of the reviews you deserve, and it is a shame! I do hope you published this story elsewhere, for you really deserve to receive more feedback about it. Well done, dear, and I will certainly look forward to your next piece. Take care! :o)

Author's Response: Wow! I'm thrilled that you liked this so much, ZC! I rarely write schoolage Hermione, and when I do, it's seventh year. Therefore, I have to "age" them appropriately, which means keeping them believably in canon while allowing them to mature in a plausible way. Draco, for example, is still sharp-tongued and arrogant, but he's been on the receiving end of prejudice. Did it change him overnight? Of course not. But repeated exposure to it, coupled with spending every day with Snape, has taught him control, restraint, and not to jusge character by one's parentage... a life lesson that he could easily learn while on the run. As for the dream, well... I guess I got a little carried away... but it was so much fun to write I didn't know which parts to cut, so I left the whole thing in. I thank you so much for your very detailed and articulate review... it's very much appreciated, as is your supportive encouragement. You've most definitely made my day!

I don't think I've ever read a fanfic that captivated me quite this much. Everything seems real and completely possible and plausible. I can imagaine every scene as it's happenening; great detail! I can't wait to read the next chapter. Thanks for you wonderful work.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you found this captivating and compelling, but the beszt compliment you could've given me was that it was plausible. I'm so very glad that you think so... I was concerned that it wouldn't be. Thanks so very much for you kind words.

Lovely story, nice characters. Enjoyed this and am now late!

Author's Response: Oh, no! I didn't mean to make you late! I hope you weren't TOO tardy. I'm pleased that you thought the characters were palatable... at least I know that Draco wasn't too fluffy. Thanks so much for reading (I'm such a bad influence, making you late) and I'm grateful you also took the time to leave me a review. I greatly appreciate it!

What a great story! The meeting with Narcissa was poignant.

Author's Response: Thank you, Firewall! This was my first real attempt at angst, so I'm pleased that you think it came out as intended. It was most generous of yoiu to leave your thoughts... I appreciate it.

Ok, I'm a girl. I cried. It was rather touching. Like I've said in previous reviews, your language is very strong. You really capture the moment and take the reader there. Kudos on an excellent story.

Author's Response: **hands zoer a Kleenex** Sorry I made you cry... but I'm really tickled that you liked it so much. This was my first real "angsty" story, and I was concerned that it didn't draw enough emotion. You've alleviated my fears, and I'm extremely grateful for your wonderful reviews. I thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to offer your encouragement. It means a lot!

“I have no idea how it happened. You’ve always fascinated me. Annoyed the hell out of me, but fascinated me nonetheless. You were forbidden, and intriguing… I know it’s only been a little over twenty-four hours, but it’s been an incredible time…very revealing… you challenge me, you know how to put me in my place, you humble me.” He looked down. “And you’ve got fabulous breasts. Can I see these?” he asked as he finally tugged her bra off and tossed it over his shoulder. ***Yet another line that I loved. It is sooooo refreshing to see some real talent. I rarely give high reviews but you are freaking awesome.

Author's Response: Wow... I'm flattered beyond belief, zoer! What a huge compliment! As for the Draco line... I just couldn't resist. Sometimes, no matter how sensitive he is, a guy is just... a guy. At least he made her laugh! **wink** Thanks for continuing to read.

“Virginal? Sorry to disappoint you, Hermione, but some things just can’t be undone.” His brow furrowed as he propped his hands on his hips. “Draco?” Another great sentence. Snarky, I really must say, I love the language you use in this story. The imagery is awesome. You're really a talented writer.

Author's Response: **Blush** You're too kind, but I'm thrilled that you're enjoying this. You know, I debated about exactly how smart-alecky to make Harry... but I figured an adult Harry who'd lived through so much had just as much right to his own brand of "snark" as Snape did. Thanks for your kind words.

She tilted her head to listen to the bone-chilling wind as it assaulted the exterior of her home, trying valiantly to find a crack or crevice to infiltrate. **I love this sentence. It is absolutly marvoulous. I have a question...can werewolves really talk when in wolf form? so far, so good.

Author's Response: Thanks, zoer. I'm pleased that my descriptions have caught your fancy. As far as werewolves being able to talk, the answer is usually no, they cannot, as evidenced by Remus' transformation in PoA. However... Fenrir is an exception. If you recall at the end of Book 6, he bit Bill Weasley while still in human form, and Dumbledore questioned him, "Am I to take it that you are attacking without even the full moon now? This is most unusual... you have developed a taste for human flesh that cannot be satisfied once a month?" His sharp teeth and long yellow nails are a constant physical characteristic for him, and it was this human form that I envisioned attacking Severus and Draco. My sincere apologies if that was unclear.

Simply beautiful - drew a tear from me as well. You captured the 'essence of Malfoy' perfectly. I was completely drawn in from beginning to end. Thank you for sharing this.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much, ma'am. I'm so pleased that I was able to touch you... and thrilled that you think my Malfoy is in character. It's gratifying to know that I was able to capture and hold your interest, and I truly appreciate your lovely review. Thanks, again!

I was teary-eyed at the end; the very definition of bittersweet. It was a wonderful read with interesting characterizations and a well crafted storyline. Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much, cimmer! It's gratifying to know that the angst I fretted over is truly angsty and can draw a tear. I've never done angst, and I'm thrilled to have apparently evoked emotion. I'm glad you enjoyed the storyline, too, and I appreciate that you took the time to leave your thoughts in a review. It means a lot. Thanks, again!

Weee! Upon reading your comment to one of my reviews for your HG/SS fics, I came here to find your Draco/Mione stuff and this is just as intriguing and beautiful as your Severus/Hermione writings. I can't stress enough how well you capture the characters. You do a brilliant job of allowing us to see different sides to the characters we all know without making it blatantly out of form for them. You justify all thoughts, all reasoning behind what they say and do when it's something that doesn't fall into the characterisation JKR has given us. You really are a brilliant writer. You're amazing with words and imagery, you have a great talent for dialogue as well. All of your stories flow brilliantly together, and they always leave me wanting more which is a good thing *grins* This story is absolutely no exception. It's amazing, and well written, and a very intriging plot line. The obliviation of Narcissa is extremely plausible, and it most definitely makes sense as something that the Ministry would do if needed. Great job, hun! I can't wait to read more of your stuff!

Author's Response: **hugs ReekaJean** Oh, you have no idea what a fantastic pick-me-up this was for me today! I'm so very thrilled that you like it, especially that you think DM & HG are plausible. Honestly, almost nothing would be OoC for them as long as you completely justify their actions. As for Narcissa... well, many times those in authority make gargantuan mistakes in the name of the "greater good." It's usually unfortunate, in those instances, that the tragic pain borne by those affected by those decisions is overlooked, or swept under the carpet. Perhaps the majority of wizarding society would believe that Draco has no right to grieve for his parents, given the nature of their prejudices and the destruction caused in the name of those dearly-held tenets. But at the most basic, they are a family... a father and a mother and a son who love each other enough to kill for and die for each other. I can't imagine that Draco witnessing his mother's "relocation" would be any less painful than if it was Harry seeing Lily in that position. Anyway... **steps down off soapbox** thank you so very much for your beautiful review, and for your encouragement. It means a great deal, and I'm indeed grate4ful to have such wonderful readers. You're a gem, my dear... thanks for reading!!

Really great story I like how Malfoy doesn't loose his style even though he's no longer "teh ebil". Very good job!

Author's Response: Draco very definitely has style, doesn't he? Even in the most dire of circumstances, I don't think he'd ever forget his breeding, ever forget that he's a Malfoy. I'm pleased you liked it, and I thank you for your kind review.

I really hope you're not going to absolutely end this story here!!! Maybe a sequel sometime? You have written such a wonderful story, I'd like to see it continue! The relationship between Hermione and Draco could continue and then have something happen that sends Charlotte to Draco for care... Oh, well, it's just an idea! Thanks for a great read!

Author's Response: It ends here, for now, my dear. Although the idea of an older Charlotte having to seek Draco's help is a very good one. Hmmmm.... **rubs chin in thought** I may have to take you up on that sometime. Anyway, thanks so much for reading and for taking the time to leave your thoughts and ideas. They're great, and they've really got me thinking.

Yep. Sure sounds like a plan made for the books. It'll be the heist of a century! We'll steal Draco right out from under Hermione's nose. *cackles* SHould we get Mz Bambu into this? Then again, that'd mean less time with his Blond-ishness.. hmmm *ponders* We'll pursue this in earnest with emails, yah. I'm currently unavailable by owl because that little twit had to go and bash her head against a window. *tsk* SO! Email it'd have to be. :)

Author's Response: Sorry to hear about your owl... I'm sure Bambu would love to scheme with us, although I believe she's more hung up on the tall, dark and snide type. Which is okay... more for us!

Post-Review:

"(Although, if I were Hermione,I'd hold on and wouldn't let go!! **wink**)"

Mwahahahahahahaha! *evil laughter continues to echo in the background*

*whispers conspiratorially* Okay, so here's the plan. You bind her, I'll grab him and we'll scoot. I promise to share if you come bearing lots of Godiva chocolates. With truffles. And maybe throw in some ice-cream and peanuts and- oh dear. I er....erm.. OK! So,back to the plan. You stun 'er, I grab 'im and off we go! *walks off beaming to plot some more*

*darts back* I didn't mean that she was clingy, exactly. More like... less of herself, like she'd given part of herself to him already. I got that she was efficient, that she was great at her job and also that she already was in a receptive frame of mind towards Draco. Once again, thankee!

Author's Response: **brandishes wand to practice Petrificus Totalus** Sounds like a plan! And I come packing chocolate... lots of it. We'll discuss the division of his many talents away from prying eyes **wink** My apologies, I must have misunderstood the 'clingy' thing. But, it's irrelevent... she's gonna be out of the picture and we're gonna steal the Slytherin. SSSSHHHHH! We can't let Severus find out or he'll try to rescues him. **pauses** Is that a BAD thing??? Thanks again for... well... for being you! **hug**

Wow. This was like having my unspoken request fleshed out and ready to read. I used to be an ardent fan of pirate-romance-novels before I learnt about the HP fanon world, so this meshing of both genres, sappy or otherwise, was super-fun to read.

I don't think I can tell you how grateful I am for those 87 pages of 'Healing the Wounds'. It came at just the right time; when I was down and needed something fresh, comfortingly familiar and yet really fun to read to get away from RL.

Maybe some will say that everything happened too fast or it's just too damn unlikely that they'd be so much in accord but my sappy heart would like to believe otherwise. Who hasn't fantasised about the unthinkable before?

I found the way you wrote redeemed!Snape very like how I imagined. He's toned down his vitrol but still retains that snark that's just so Snapey. Draco. DracoDracoDraco! Whoa. Lady, you nailed the fantasy about grown-up Draco. How can one not ah-dore him when his charm, virility, compassion and general hot-ness seem to be at their respective peaks? ;)

I found Hermione to be truely portrayed except for some moments when she was a bit too... *searches for word*..clingy? Yes, that. But I suppose there was much at stake for her and to give her credit, she didn't display it that much.

The bit about relatives of convicted Death Eaters being Obliaviated was really a great(!) plot device. Who'd have thought of drawing parallels between Molly and Narcissa? Or that'd she'd actually be a caged free-spirit?

The explanations offered in this five-chaptered fic for each occurance; be they for Narcissa Malfoy's effusive displays of love to her son but otherwise icy-bitch image, Hermione and Draco's rapid fall in love, Hermione defending Draco after basically just one day in his reformed-self's company etc etc were cleverly sprinkled in the dialogue of the cast and in Hermione's thoughts.

Overall, I love it! - And not just because of the thrill seeing my name in chapter one. ;) -

Author's Response: So... you liked Draco, huh? Well, my dear, I'm glad I was able to give you a brief respite from the pressure of RL... goodness knows we all need that. **hug** Happened too fast? Maybe... but I started with a Hermione already predisposed to liking him and forgiving him, if ever given the chance. He's spent several years on the run, with Snape, and he's had a valuable life lesson in the consequences of prejudice, as well as exactly what Muggles are really like. I can't imagine spending day in and day out with Snape and not learn control or come to the realization that he isn't the center of the universe. Draco's grown up, out of our sight and away from everyone who's known him, and he's returned an older and wiser man. As far as Hermione being clingy... well, I don't really see it, but then, I've stressed her Mother Hen tendencies... she's a nurturing Healer who automatically wishes to comfort anyone who's hurting. If, by doing so, I've left you with the impression that she's needy, then I've left the wrong impression, and may need to consider revising that in the future. (Although, if I were Hermione,I'd hold on and wouldn't let go!! **wink**) Can you just see Narcissa on that Nimbus, long blonde hair streaming out behind her, reaching for that Snitch? Who would be more perfect to inspire Draco to greatness? I'm pleased you liked it. You're a fantastic reviewer... you always make me smile and chuckle and, as a writer, I appreciate every review you leave. Thanks for being such a devoted reader!
