A wonderful finish, from the opening
sentence to the end. So that's how the wizards got the land for Hogsmeade and the school - and why not? I thought your descriptions of the prelude to the battle were excellent - I could see it all. The only thing that remains is to write a sequel, telling how and when Thomas managed to resurrect himself.
I'm sure you're equal to the task.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, AmyLouise. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. As to the sequel... well, I'm toying with a couple of ideas just now. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Scaranda

That was an amazing ride. I laughed and laughed and laughed. It was better than reading Shakepeare's Macbeth. Oh the plots, oh the tales, oh the debauchery! I really enjoyed the very randy Severus. Great job! Hope you do another one...A Midsummers Night Dream perhaps? Any of them would be fun to reread with your wizard players. :-)

Author's Response: Thanks so much Severus_slave. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sort of toying with the idea of taking them to the court of Lucius XVI and Narcissa Antoinette, with the three Maurauders (Muskateers) and the Marquis de Snape (Oh, I know I'm moving the Muskateers forward in history, but they're wizards, after all, they can do that sort of thing). Thanks again for taking the time to read it, and for taking the trouble to drop a line. Scaranda

This is a complex piece layered onto an already complex play; challenging and not a little frightening. The calling of the Fey was quite sickening and a powerfully evocative scene.

Author's Response: Thanks so much once again, AmyLouise. I'm so pleased you're still enjoying it, even with the sickening scene of the Fey and Thomas! Scaranda

The 'ghost of Banquo' scene was great. Reading this story for the second time, I'm only now fully appreciating how cleverly you've moulded Shakespere to HP but I can't understand why such a beautifully written brilliant piece of work hasn't got more reviews on this site. The Riddler and the Fey grow more ominous by the minute, and I love the way you use Aricanthe to give us a bird's eye view of what's happening when Severus can't be there. Outstanding!

Author's Response: Thanks for that! I was worried about the 'ghost' scene being contrived, mainly because so many people on Occlumency, where I first posted this (barely keeping my writing ahead of my posting), kept asking when it was going to be coming along! As to Aricanthe, I had originally intened to write this in the first person, but too much was going to happen where Snape couldn't just eavesdrop, so she was a kind of gift when I thought of her. Thanks again. Scar

The stag hunt was a great piece of writing-- exhilarating, clever, and I loved the way it brought the Marauders into play. Thomas' attiude about having to 'dine on swan' becasue the dragon ate the stag, with no concern about it having killed Lucius too was just what we expect of him. His evil barely simmering below the surface, and becomming more and more toxic. Good show!

Author's Response: Thanks, Vixen. Glad you're enjoying it still. Thanks for your support, as usual. Scar

I like how you're managing to keep the tension mounting without losing any of the threads - no mean feat. The descriptions of how the wizards hide their magic from Tom, and the consequent danger to themselves, is very well thought out.

Author's Response: Thanks for that, AmyLouise. Glad you're still enjoying it. Scaranda

Loved the last two chapters. I chuckled at Macduff/Hagrid, and loved the typical banter of the twins at the end. I'm glad you explained to me that some of the characters aren't meant to be anything but themselves, because I'd been puzzling over Lennox - thought he might be Scrimgeour, but I had doubts, so at least I can let that rest now. I
hope you post again soon, because the action is really hotting up.

Author's Response: Thanks again, AmyLouise. Glad I've cleared up the mystery for you. Funny you should mention Scrimgeour, as he is the one I kind of thought of using for Lennox, but clarifying all the characters into Potterverse counterparts was beginning to detract from the story, so I just used the obvious ones. Thanks so much for continuing to read along, and I hope you enjoy the rest. Scaranda

Hi Scaranda. I read this story not long ago when you had it on Occlumncy. I'm enjoying it even more this time around, seeing the subtle shfts in Snape's opinions and having all the characeters more clearl;y in mind. A truly masterful weaving of two genres, and a brilliant build-up to the climax.

Author's Response: Hi to you, Vixen. I didn't know you wandered over here!. Glad you're enjoying it over again, and thanks for dropping a line. Scar

I'm still following this story, albeit with occasional confusion as to who is whom! But Shakespeare wrote a good story, and the magical overlay of familiar characters just adds to the mix
in a very interesting way. Your Tom Riddle is, if anything, scarier than
Rowling's.

Author's Response: Thanks, AmyLouise, good to hear you're still reading along. Most of the characters have an obvious counterpart in Potterverse, but instead of becoming too complicated with nudges and winks, I decided to leave some of Shakespeare's characters as just that, most notably Lennox, Ross and Angus. I hope that helps you! Thanks so much for commenting. Glad to see the Riddler is having the desired effect, but he's going to get a lot worse. Scaranda.

I'm so glad to see another chapter of this very enjoyable story - I do admire your resourcefulness in putting it together so well. I do love the 'Weasel Catchers'; they make me smile every time they appear.

You're weaving your way through the intricacies of the interwoven plots with great finesse. I laugh to myself each time another familiar name emerges,
but Tom casts a long shadow, and there's plenty of tension building.

Author's Response: Thanks, AmyLouise. I always loved the real play, historical inconsistencies aside; unfortunately, when I got to the eventual end of this, it turned out to be longer than Shakespeare's effort. Tom's a bad 'un, to be sure, and there's a lot more to come from him. Thanks so much for reading along. Scaranda

This is a wonderful piece indeed! You obviously know your history, legends, and English, and I love what you're doing with all of them. This is a joy to read.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, AmyLouise. This story is all written, and I'll try to post a couple of chapters a week. Many thanks for reading, and for dropping a line. Scaranda

I don't often stray over to Lumos, but when I did the title of your story drew my eye. Very clever melding of the two genres - I don't know where you're taking it, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Author's Response: I don't stray over here much myself, AmyLouise, and I don't know why that is, having a great fondness for a Weasley or two. Thanks so much for your comment. I hope you enjoy the rest. Scaranda
