Chilling in its simplicity. Now I have to wonder what is a Dementor? Still can't feel sorry for Dudley though. It was a good thing his parents did show up and I'm glad of that, I still don't feel sorry for him.

Author's Response: Thank you! Don't ask where this story idea came from, because I don't know myself ;) I have my own theories on dementors, who knows if they'll pan out. One of them is that some dark wizards become so corrupted and evil, that they can turn to dementors, and when a wizard gets the Kiss, that wizard, too, will turn into a dementor. It's the last one, especially, that I play with here. There's a subtle hint as to whom the dementor who's thoughts we follow is -- or used to be, heh heh heh.
