I love this story, it's so different. You really showed the hatred in Malfoy! Amazing!

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I was thinking that hatred is a bit like battery acid, and then I realized that's what Malfoy would think of tainted blood. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

What an interesting little story. I'd love to know what goes on in the heads of some of the characters, and I really like what you filled Draco's with. Some beautiful writing and imagery.

Author's Response: I'm so sorry I didn't reply before now, Cerridwen Aradia. I changed laptops and didn't get the email notification. I just checked here today, which I rarely do and found your lovely note. Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate them.

HP/HG is not my OTP, but stuff like this could make it.

Author's Response: It usually isn't mine either, but this idea just arm-wrestled me to the ground until I caved. Thank you very much for the compliment.

awe, that was sweet and endeering. Though I do feel a loss for Draco, I still think he could be saved from his upbringing, but now I'm not so sure. Its all up to JKRowling now I guess. Great story and I haven't really thought of Harry and Hermione before, but maybe once again I've been persuaded otherwise. I loved it, thank you for writing it I really enjoyed it through and through.

Author's Response: You're most kind, dragonsong. I never really planned to write Harry/Hermione, but it just worked with this scenario. I, too, think this is the direction that JKR will take Draco, much to my sorrow. Thank you for leaving me a review.

And I should also point out (sorry, forgot to add this earlier) that I love your Snape. He's very canon without using the same sort of descriptions that JKR uses (like 'greasy git' and so on.) You really portray him with a quiet dignity that I like.

Author's Response: Thank you. He is really my favorite character and I cannot seem to write a story without him. I'm glad you like my version of the spy-master.

Wow, nicely done! There was some pretty powerful imagery there, the one that really sticks with me is where Hermione and Harry step passed "the immobile body of Draco Malfoy, his blond hair fanned out in a white aureole around his head." *nods* Nicely done. So.... I don't suppose you have any other stories hidden around the various sycophantex sites, do you? Hm... I'll have to look!

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you for your review. I'm tickled that you enjoyed it! And, erm... other than my SS/HG (which you already know), I have a story on Pureblood.

WOW! Very powerfull and direct. I have not seen a story with Hermione and Draco that expresses this aspect of the Wizarding World so directly and pasionately. Well Done!

Author's Response: Thank you for your very thought-provoking compliment, susandara. I tend to think that any interaction between Draco and Hermione is laced with tension. The actual direction it takes is up for speculation, but I don't really see it being milquetoast as the war draws them into its whirling center.

Wow! (Again!) You can write ANY ship! So real, so scary. Do you really think Draco is going to be THAT demented? I don't doubt he will lean towards this father's side, but he's always seemed a little spoiled, a little less commited--not a fence rider, but someone who doesn't fully appreciate (yet) the implications of his verbal vomit or careless actions because he has not yet really had to be responsible for anything. I do think that H/HR is one of the more natural pairings, and if it weren't for JKR's seemingly Authurian bent, it might have actually turned out like that at the end of 7 years. I guess we will just have to wait and see. But in the mean time, I, as well as many of my fellow fanfic followers would attest, will continue to read Bambu's work as faithfully as we read Ms. Rowling's. Your work just can't be beat! Thanks for giving in and posting this bunny!

Author's Response: WOW! Lyndie, this is one of the most glorious compliments I've ever received. I'm really touched.

This impetus for this piece came from my thoughts about the power of belief systems -- having actually done, fearful woman that I am, a firewalk -- and extrapolating Draco's belief in the filth of a mudblood. He doesn't hesitate to accept a duel, and Hermione has been his academic nemesis for years. I can extrapolate the mean-spirited, manipulative, power-hungry 5th year to a potentially lethal 7th year. I agree with you about the eventual pairing of H/Hr... I don't see it happening in canon, even if Harry's a better choice for Hermione than Ron. I hope you continue to enjoy my little creative maunderings, and thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the plot bunny!

Aww... Bambu, how sweet! Very nice story! It was rather sad, knowing that Draco had chosen his path, and thus the path for practically all of Slytherin House. He really was a product of his upbringing... And Harry and Hermione... *smiles* Beautiful. Wonderful job! :)

Author's Response: Hey, AQ, I'm so glad you found me here. I never thought I'd write a Harry/Hermione, but this little scene really was plaguing me, so I decided to use it as a warm up for the next chapter of Summoning. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Now THAT is how I see Draco Malfoy. Oh, I like him well enough in your other fics, but I really think this is how he acts in canon. The fanatical way that he couldn’t bear to have Hermione’s blood on him was really chilling and very well written. As for the Harry/Hermione thing – meh. I find the pairing a lot more believable than Ron/Hermione, but I’m afraid that JKR doesn’t agree with me. Then again, I spend far too much time on Ashwinder, so what does that say about my take on relationships *grin*.

Author's Response: Regrettably, I agree with you, Winna. This is exactly how I see a canon Draco, and I doubt that JKR will change his character at this point. He's being set up as Harry's peer enemy and he's too good an antagonist to humanize him further. Sigh. Thank you for the compliment about the blood/acid metaphor. I think JKR is going to pair Ron & Hermione by the seventh book, but I really don't think they're a good match at all. Harry's a better choice for her, but I honestly doubt that they'd ever see each other in a romantic light unless something catalytic were to occur... But, the great news is that this is fanfic, we can change them if we want and can make it believable. ::grins evilly:: Thank you very much for letting me know you read this little exercise in fantasy!
