I've read this a few times, and have enjoyed it every time. How frustrating it would have been, to have been denined the post for so many years! and then to see a werewolf, Lockhart, and the others take the posts. (*cough*As well as have non-canon rumors about himself and a certain brown-haired student.*cough*) And then to watch every possible idiot (including Quirrell) take the reins... The canon complete - we know that even Snape was stuck to the one-year rule!
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the story. It was a lot of fun coming up with the examples of the other DADA teachers. (And I'm sure Snape was frustrated with the choices more often than not.)

Goodness, what a wretched task this is, trying to fill this cursed position! Excellent description of how all the varied former teachers met their end. I like the one "trampled by a thestral" the best. McG's reference to a "panther or leopard" as Snape's animagus transformation is cute--seems a bit flirty, or am I reading too much into that? Congratulations on being featured!

I rather liked the "death by thestral" myself; I had to come up with one death that just sounded absurd. (Plus my son loved it. ;) ) McG was just supposed to sound affectionate, but I can see where you get the "flirty".
And thanks for letting me know about my being featured; I hadn't realized it.

A nice glimpse into the possible past -- there are so many scenes that canon will never show us, alas.
