this is quite nice i like how you chose dean i always got the feeling that he was always portrayed as the token black kid in the books and more so in the films, but i didn't like how he drifted away from his parents. my experiences of a Caribbean family is you stick together no m atter what your difference... but i think im nit picking now LOL! =]

This is good! Not particularly engaging, as there's no tension about anything, but a fun read nonetheless. This sort of story can get really simplistic, but you created an atmosphere within it that holds on just long enough to get the reader to the end. Congratulations.
