How terrible and terrifying it must be to assume your parents killed your sibling, and that the body could be anywhere in the house, transformed into something else -- perhaps even soup? I'm disappointed that Phineas or Grandma didn't assure Dorea that her brother was still alive. I'm glad she went into Ravenclaw...The further from her family, the better!

Author's Response: The adults didn't know the girls thought Marius was dead. It was a subject that was never discussed. Thanks for reviewing, I'm working on the next chapter now.

Rereading this story, I realize that you've touched on the point of why Sirius and Severus look so much alike as described by JRR in the books: the black hair, the noses, etc.

Author's Response: Oh good, some one else thinks so! I plan to pull those two into later chapters. Thanks for taking the time to write a second comment.

Loved it, really loved it. A story that truly brought the characters to life. Great stuff!

Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I'm working on chapter 2 now.

Very interesting twist at the end, I do hope that Marius is an ancestor of Tobias Snape.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I'll be dropping more hints about that in later chapters.

Thanks for taking me on a journey from the magical world to the Muggle world. This is a good take on what happens with Squibs, how they might intergrate into the Muggle world, and it's refreshing to see Phineas Black in the role of, well, not a hero, but a loving and caring grandfather. Perhaps part of reason he was so not liked as a headmaster was because he didn't subscribe to the pure-blood theme, but rather to the Slythern being the house of ambition. It seems that way here.

Author's Response: I thought that Phineas Nigellus might be disliked for some not so obvious reasons. Thanks for the review!
