I found this story quite intriguing. Perhaps because I can relate not only to Hermione's analysis but to your own upbringing. (I too, grew up in the Catholic way - parochial schooling from kindergarten to 12th grade) And as such, I did not find your story sacrilegeous in the least. If anything, it represents a very real characterization of how most people faced with doctrine struggle to see how it pertains to their everyday lives. If you enjoy mulling over the introspective and reading about such things, I would highly suggest Readings for Meditation and Reflection by C.S. Lewis. He had a wonderfully insightful way of making sense of it all. P.S. Loved the ending!

I found this highly interesting. Such an original and interesting idea, well-researched and sensitively written. I think we can all relate to Hermione's feelings about love in some respect, even if we don't have the tendency to analyse as much as she does. You really captured Hermione's personality, with her obsession for learning more about the world around her, and her thorough style. Exceptionally well written. I hope to read more of your work. x
