hmm...so, we're getting an early peek of Gamp's thinking....she wants what is in Albus' best interests. ....like....Minerva for Albus in the future? She is rather perceptive...

Author's Response: Yup -- unless you're the suspicious type! ;D Thanks for reviewing!

oh good. It was Dumbledore. what a tongue lashing!!!! just like Minerva-viewing herself as just a student, just an investment...Dumbedore has his work cut out for him!!!!

Author's Response: I thought you'd be relieved! And it was quite a Dumbledorish tongue-lashing, wasn't it. But I think that the present-day Dumbledore should listen to some of his own advice from back then! :D And Minerva is doing a very good job of convincing herself that she can't ever be important in his life! She got an early start. Thank you very much for reviewing!

Noooooooo! A cliffhanger! And a very effective one, too! But, really, this last was such an excellent chapter. It's nice to know you're definitely NOT in the evil!McGonagall camp, lol.

Author's Response: No, you are right, I'm *definitely* NOT in the evil!McGonagall camp! Glad you liked the cliffie! *grin* I give those stories a miss, as they say! Thanks for the review!

Oohhh....lots more lovely details....more puzzles...what was Dumbledore's embarrasing incident a few yrs ago? What is the secret with Gertie? Why's Hagrid sad? Is Minerva going to become head of house? deputy head? Will Minerva find someone to talk to about Albus? Hell! maybe Gertie....two things I've always wondered....about Dumbledore's personal past life....academics tend to go ascetic, but still, he's probably had some relationships....2nd, I've always wondered why or why not Albus and Minerva would or would not marry.... Anyway, wonderful chappie!!!!!!!! ooh. what does cicisbeo mean?

Author's Response: A cicisbeo was a lover to a married woman, taken with the knowledge and consent of the woman's husband. It's an Italian term, I believe, and I think (though I may be wrong) that it comes from the late Renaissance, but the term was adopted in English at some point. It's mroe "upscale" than a mere gigolo, and the lady would appear in public with her cicisbeo, who would escort her to the theater, and such. Cicisbeos occasionally are characters in comic operas. It was considered bad form for a husband to display any jealousy toward the cicisbeo. Hope that helps! :D I'm glad you liked the chappie! And your questions will be answered . . . in good time! Thanks for reviewing!

Oh Albus! You silly man! But other than his parting thoughts......that was YUMMY!! And I can't wait for Poppy to torment Minerva!!!!!!! There were so many wonderful things in this chapter!!!!! Minerva really should take advantage of her kitty form more often ; ) And they FINALLY expressd some of their actual feelings. They both want to spend more time together and now they both know it!!! Yay!!!!And she finally hugged Albus. What he said about wanting to spend all day with her, and his fears and tears......this was so yummy. Now I want to see Minerva attempt to convince Poppy that she has the wrong end of the stick, when she's actually on the right track......I thought the timing of those two meals could look awkward to someone.....:) Just, yay!!!!!!!

Author's Response: I'll probably have another chapter up for you on Sunday evening. I'm glad you liked this chapter so much! :D Thanks for your review!

poor Minerva! I love her little mantras to herself! And that barmy old codger meditation she did as a teenager was hilarious and delightful! So in character! But the poor girl!!! I somehow don't think that Gertie is even remotely a problem. I'm sure Albus is comfortable with her as a colleague all those years, but we know who he's primping for!!

Author's Response: Yes, poor Minerva! Worried about the wrong thing -- and of course, both of them primping for the other and trying not to look like they are! I thought the little "old codger" meditations would be amusing and in character -- she does seem the practical type!

Birds of a feather indeed... I'm almost always a silent reader, but I wanted to add my name to the list of readers. I actually didn't discover it until Lumos; I was surfing, trying to figure out what kind of stories lurked in here. And then I procrastinated horribly to read all the chapters I'd missed ;-) Thank you for updating so often! It's a lovely break from the day.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're reading and enjoying! And interested to hear you found the story *after* the move -- that is encouraging. *smile* Thank you very much for your review! I appreciate your taking the time. There will probably be another update in a couple days!

Hmm...I'm wondering how Minerva was protected from a magical drain if she's of age. Of course, we know who the ward expert is...hmm?

Author's Response: We will learn more about that -- you noticed that Albus didn't clarify anything then, and only acknowledged that Madam V had mentioned it to him.

There both in such denial about the feelings of the other, aren't they? Minerva's been smitten all along, and Albus just needed the chance to see her as an adult. But they both think so highly of the other that they can't imagine the other wanting them! Poor Minerva and Albus!

Author's Response: Yes, you've got it right. But they each have a chance now to take off their blinders and see how the other feels. Thanks very much for reviewing!

Thank you SO much for the second chappie! The poor, poor girl!!! What are you doing to her? Carried around by Dumblydore? In the hospital bed?!? No wonder she wants to die from embarrasment! And that was so sad but sweet about it not being his fault-he couldn't help existing and all...these two are repressing so much that they're just going to pop! I've been debating who will need more convincing...and I think it's Dumbledore. He's convinced that he's just a barmy old codger in her eyes...although Minerva is stubborn...and the thing is, she's intimidated by who he is, his accomplishments and everything, but not by him...I don't know. Random thoughts... anyway, thank you for that chapter!!

Author's Response: I know, I'm putting her through the wringer, aren't I? I think you are on to a few things . . . but won't say more than that. You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

I just wanted to say that I love your story! I started reading it when Mage still existed. I'm sorry that I've never reviewed...I'm so bad about remembering...but from now on I promise that I'll review every chapter! I love the AD/MM pairing. The story shows a wonderful progression of feelings & emotions...I love it! Will they end with one another? & how far into the series do you think you will go if at all? I was just wondering because I think that this story has a lot of potential to fit very well with the existing series! Keep up the good work!

Author's Response: Hi! Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad to know that you followed the story over from Mage. And if you miss reviewing, don't beat yourself up about it -- I want you to enjoy the story, not feel guilty about how often you review! That said, I love to get reviews, and it does make it more enjoyable for me to update the story when I know that people are reading and enjoying the story. I like happy endings, so that should tell you something about whether they end up together. *grin* It won't be entirely without difficulty, however -- but that's why it's a long story. I'm telling about their journey to get to know each other. "RaM" will probably end some point far before the series begins, but I think that it may have a sequel. This story basically covers 1937 - 1957-ish, so that leaves a lot of room for more stories! *smile* Thank you for reviewing -- I really *do* appreciate it very much, and I hope you continue to enjoy the story!

Oooohh..he likes A LOT of her tangible qualities. tee-hee. And, ooh! That Dumblydore! "Revolting and pathetic"?!? poor thing. He has NO idea what's going on in Minerva's head! So...they realized they were attracted to each other within less than a year? Nifty.... I'm a loyal reader! Please don't go away! And don't even joke about going SS/HG on me!! I like that pairing, but I like this one better. These two characters have such admirable, endearing qualities, and you want to see them happy, dammit!!!

Author's Response: Never fear, as long as I have even one person reviewing regularly, I'll continue to post to Lumos. I just feel somewhat . . . not discouraged, exactly, but disappointed, perhaps, that more folks aren't reading over here. I got about three times as many hits on Mage per chapter than I am getting now. I realise that "hits" is not exactly equivalent to "readers," but I still think it's too bad. Anyhoo, to the rest of your review, yes, he likes many of her "tangible qualities"! And I'm very glad you like this pairing. I am fond of it, as well, obviously, since I chose to write this story! And you will, eventually, see them happy. Just for you, a new chappie will be posted today (yup, two in one day), just to show you I'm not going anywhere! *grin*

I had to review again! "he was doing this to comfort her, after all, not to cater to his own needs." So, Albus has NEEDS huh? Not just wants or desires... One thing I've been wondering. We know that they are attracted to each other because of their intelligence and character. And they have an amazing history. We also know that Minerva is attracted to Albus' scent, his warmth, strength and magic. But what tangible qualities of Minerva's does Albus find so alluring/compelling?

Author's Response: "But what tangible qualities of Minerva's does Albus find so alluring/compelling?" You are anticipating some of what will come up in the next chapter. I think you'll enjoy it. There will also be more in future chapters, but you will need to be patient! *grin* Yup, needs, not just wants and desires. Hee!

Any fly on the wall could tell that that was a romantic evening!!! I'm so glad Minerva got to embrace him again....and he even kissed her hand!!! Swoony chapter!! Breakfast, or more memories? ~ one happy shipper

That sure is some Ministry. First, it looks like they probably suspended Minerva for managing to bring Albus back in one piece, AND they sent her parents her letter....and what TANTALIZING tidbits you gave us...something went wrong at the funeral...they talked in the library for an hour...Minerva flees! and Albus has his head in his hands!!!!! Are you going to expand upon these tidbits or leave us drooling?!? And I wonder how much her parents suspect about their relationship...I loved that moment chapters ago when her father teased her about Professor Dumbldore (was it at the Three Broomsticks?) what a perceptive comment on his part....I like this chapter from her parents pov!

Author's Response: Thanks! They do reappear, and we will learn more, but it won't be for many chapters yet -- it will tie in with another event in the "present" timeline. But sit tight, I think you'll enjoy the rest of the story as we get there! (Glad you liked her father's teasing -- that comes in later on, too!) (And yes, it was at the Three Broomsticks. :-D) As for the Ministry, I don't think they did much better then than they did later in Harry's time! Thank you very much for reviewing!

The poor dears! I can't wait to see how they get out of this mess. Plan A, Plan B or.... Excellent chapter!

Oh, I totally missed this chapter! (I'm so glad I thought to look back just in case.) This one has me crying still, esp. those beautiful letters and the mention of him meeting his gram again. A beautifully written, but terribly sad chapter!

Author's Response: I'm updating pretty frequently, so it's probably a good idea to note which chapter you last read so that you can make sure you didn't miss one! I'm glad you looked back and found this one.
