5 STARS!!!
Author's Response: *grins* Thank you!!
LOVED IT!!!
this really was very interesting and i did love the depth you've given petunia. i especially thought that there was more to say on her character in the book. esp when she saying goodbye to harry and she stops by the door as if she's to say something and then doesnt. i thought that was terrible on JK Rowlings part and i felt it could have given petunia more depth i hope they change that bit in the film if they dont leave the dursleys out all together! LOL
ACE STORY!
Author's Response: Thank you!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! This story was one of my favorites to write, and I too was very sad that Jo didn't do more with the Dursleys--especially after creating such a fascinating backstory for Petunia...
oh my dear lord i swear I'm going to start crying. That is the most touching, elegant and gorgeous story I have ever read. Thankyou so much for giving the wizarding community (i.e, me) something that fantastic to occupy their time with. That story is officially my life. YAY YOU, HONEY, YOU'VE HIT THE JACKPOT!!!
Now here's what I was hoping for from Jo - some real depth to the story behind Petunia rather than just oblique allusions. This gives a real feel for the conflict between the narrow person that Petunia became and the more open one that she might have become had the fates been kinder. Oh - and I love the image of Petunia lying awake after midnight wishing herself a happy birthday just like Harry did in SS/PS. Well done!
Beautiful story about the Petunia we know so little about. Thanks for shining a light into the little nooks and crannies of her life, and showing how stressful it would be to be in a safe house, and not feel safe.
