So glad they finally got together, but I loved the long slow build up. Almost like a real healthy relationship.

I love the detail re the spells and techniques they use to fix up the house. Wow - even with magic it is a lot of work.

I thoroughly enjoyed Draco's stymied attempts to apologize. Snape's guilt was painful though. Mrs. Weasley was wonderful.

Oh, no! Things were going so well. I loved Hermione's reaction to the library. The discussion of the roses was great. The arbor was amazing. How could he be such a jerk!

You portray the decaying Manor so vividly. I absolutely drooled at the description of their meal. Loved Snape's backstory re Hermione and his bluntness to Draco was shocking.

I  loved the line about watching Hermione like a Norweigan Ridgeback with a clutch of one, and the line about how she was Switzerland. The description of Draco as strangely bereft was wonderful too. The trial was disturbing, esp. the possibility of the wizards in the jury being simpathetic, but that fits with the overall world they are in.

The diagnostic potion was great, esp. bits like the parchment thin slices of bezoar. Love the alternating bonding and strutting. Reminded me of Winnie the Pooh at the end.

Horrible, although I was so relieved to realize that the blood on her might not be her own.

Zacharias is so creepy. Doesn't help that you've put the non-con warning. Love Draco's denial.

Bravo... I imagine this was written before DH, but it doesn't take anything away from it's charm. Loved it!

This is such a treat. It is intelligent, well written, and it flows well. I am surprised this is the first time I read your excellent work. Snape, the matchmaker, who would have thought. Too precious..

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm utterly delighted that you the story didn't bore you, and I'm thrilled that you found the erotica proportional to the story. That's a really great compliment.

amazing story! love how well the ending went. this is easily one of the best HG/DM fics i've read. wonderful work!

Author's Response: You were extremely kind in your praise for the story -- which was my very first DM/HG story. I wasn't even sure how to write Draco at first, so I'm thrilled you liked them and it. Thank you so much.

Author's Response: Thank you very much; I do hope you forgive my lengthy delay in replying (I haven't been on Pureblood in a long time, and I didn't realize I had a review.)

I really like this story alot. Can you please write some more chapters?

Author's Response: I'm afraid that other an an epilogue in the making, there aren't really more chapters to this story -- the tale has pretty much run its course. But I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. Thank you.

This story is one of my favorite DM/HGs, and your writing is perfect, but I find it hard to get lost in the story because of how blown out of proportion Hermione's reactions are. I find it hard to believe that Hermione would run off to the Weasley's and become a sobbing wreck for 2 weeks straight after Draco's actions. She doesn't seem to be able to hold any kind of empathy/understanding for Draco and his reasoning (of lack thereof), and just blindly shuts him out for an extended period, and I find that hard to believe of Hermione. I could see her becoming righteously angry and hurt, but not completely breaking down. Her OOCness (for me anyway,) compromises the enjoyment of the story, because instead of being happy that Hermione and Draco are working things out, I'm more annoyed at her and how ridiculous she's acting. I hope I'm not being too blunt or offensive. I love this fic (infact all of your writing), so I felt I had to get this off my chest about it, and I just hope I didn't offend you; I just wanted to give you my views as a reader, take them for what you will. Thank you for writing such great DM/HGs, because frankly, you're one of the best authors in the whole damn ship :)

Author's Response: Thank you first of all for leaving me a review, regardless of whether it's a positive one or one with a critical comment in it. I appreciate your taking the time to do so, and I'm touched that you enjoy my writing.

Having said that, I'd like to address your comment about Hermione's reaction to Draco. Her reaction, and her subsequent removal to the Burrow and the comforting arms of a maternal Molly Weasley, is not just about Draco. She hasn't really broken down about the attempted assault, or the Zacharias' betrayal, or the ordeal of the trial. She's moved forward with her life in the most positive way possible. That she's accepted Draco's invitation was a huge risk for her, and then it was awkward, but she stayed, and then he misunderstood her and frightened her. It doesn't matter that he didn't mean it, it only matters that her instinctive reaction was to freeze... and it reminded her once more of the assault... and then Draco was a complete ass (pretty much as he had been to her for their entire acquaintance.)

In her vulnerable state, she fled to the only home she had left, and wallowed in all the misery an attempted rape and a drugging induces. Sexual assault does that to women... even years afterward there will be moments when it affects people profoundly. Hermione was hurt by Draco, but I imagine his feelings are the farthest things from her mind. She's trying to find a livable balance, and that takes time... sometimes a lot of time and a lot of tears. I'm sorry this wasn't clear in the story, and I hope you will continue to find something to enjoy in the stories I write.

After reading your Paladin story (or what you have posted thus far), I had to search out other stories you've penned. I thought the first chapter was a bit slow and a bit cumbersome but I have no complaints about the following chapters. Without falling into the cliché trap I liked your sparce usage of Harry and Ron in this story. I especially LOVED their tender treatment of the "rapist"... I was LOL!! A nice spash of humor there. But mostly, I like how you didn't rush any relations between Draco and Hermione as they have a lengthy history of distrust between each other..... and who would have thought Snape as the matchmaker, that in itself is comical. Would dearly LOVE to see a small sequel to "Look Who's Coming to Dinner"

Author's Response: Your comment about the first chapter is, I'm sure, spot on, as this was the very first Draco/Hermione story I wrote. I was finding my footing in terms of their dynamic, and I'm relieved that you didn't find the subsequent chapters equally cumbersome. I have a tendency to background load my initial chapters and I struggle to remedy that.

I appreciate your interest in what I've written, and I'm delighted you enjoyed the comic relief of Harry's and Ron's attention to Smith. Snape was so much fun to write as a matchmaker -- he's honestly my favorite character in the fandom -- and I'm tickled you liked him. A sequel will have to wait until I finish my HG/SS epfic, but I do plan to write one. Thank you so much for your very kind words. I'm encouraged by your review.
