I just found the story through DA and have enjoyed it very much. I would have never thought about this pairing working, but you have made it seem real. Giving us time to see Malfoy have a real change of heart before he moved in on Hermione was a wise move. I look forward to seeing how this chamber works out. How will Harry destroy the Horcrux if he is not there? You must be brave to tackle two mysteries - the final two Horcrux AND the baby plot - at once. Tame those muses!!! Author's Response: Thanks, Lisa. I read a L/H fic and was amazed at how well it worked, so I decided to try my hand and coming up with a way to get them together. Making his change realistic was an important part of the early chapters, glad you liked it. As for this one, I'm thoroughly enjoying the mysteries I keep throwing myself. LOL I hadn't initially planned on the baby plot, that sort of just happened, and wait until you see what's coming in 19. LOL I must truly be insane.

as always, this story get better with each chapter... I couldn't help but chuckle just a little bit at the Madam Pince bit... (it brought back memories of my High School librarian.)
I am looking forward to finding out whats in that room, (and where L/H powers are going, and whats happen to the baby, too. (not sounding to pushy am I?)
Author's Response: Thanks, Trinity. I will admit to channeling dislike of certain school librarians in the the Madam Pince scene. I really couldn't resist. As for answers to questions, they are coming, though it might take a few chapters for all of them. :)

I've been trying to get the two of them working together on something for quite some time now, I just wasn't getting the cooperation I wanted. :)...As I've decided to incorporate the final battle into this fic, I found the idea of doing something with people from the 4 houses a necessity. Wow! Well I seem to remember starting to read this story but for some reason never got past the first few chapters. I'm so glad I came back for another read because this is really brilliant. I *love* your Lucius - he's reformed but not cowed, he's the perfect example of a 'safe' badboy! I also like the idea of Lucius being turned towards and then against Voldemort by family. It makes the fact that in choosing Hermione he's found *himself* much more powerful. Wonderful story Phoenix, I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks, Marie. I'm glad you came back to check it out. I'm glad you like how I've portrayed Lucius. I found it a bit difficult, as he's a man with enourmous pride and pretending to be servile must just grate him. I think he's gotten more than he anticipated in choosing Hermione, but in a good way...I hope to have the next chapter submitted soon...I will admit that this story hasn't really turned out how I initially planned it. At first, I thought it would be a nice, short little 10 chapter fiction. Um, yeah. I can't even hazard a guess at how long it's going to be now. LOL You'll see why in the next chapter. It's kind of fun for me when a story takes on a life of its own. :)

ohh.... I'm offline for a week and I find not 1 but 2 new chapers. *does happy dance* yes! :P This story get better and better... I can't wait to see how the L/H magic proximity twist is going to play out... I know that Hermione's bond to the baby was broken when Lucius cast the spell, but given that spell... Maybe Lucius has a bond to their daughter??? And thats where the magic is going??? I had a really good week after a couple of weeks of spinning my wheels. :) I'm hoping the wheels maintain their traction...I like seeing everyone trying to theorize on the whole magic thing. I'm really having fun with that. I'm really glad this story took a left turn from what I had planned. Author's Response: GAH!!! Sorry, I did notice that and I changed it at one point. I guess when I made corrections, I corrected the wrong version. Proper version (with seventh floor both times) is going up. This is what I get for working at home and work and forgetting to d/l the latest from the flash drive...Glad to hear that you are enjoying it and my little plot twists. :)

I'm trying to recombine bits I've seen in other scifi/fantasy and twist them into something different, or at least a bit off the beaten track.

Hermione and her mood swings! While her reaction may have been caused by all the stress, I actually liked that she had some doubts about Lucius. He's a difficult man to trust, given his history. Some might argue that in order for there to be real love, one must trust their partner completely but I think that's bollocks and hardly a reflection of real life.
Poor Lucius! I hope this problem with his magic gets sorted out quickly.
Author's Response: Thanks, malicia. I do think that she would be reluctantly suspicious and hormones and events would amplify that suspicion. I think she's too smart to blindly trust him when evidence points to the fact that he might be deceiving her, especially in the early stages of their relationship. Deep down, she wants to believe him, but her rational side must be convinced to join sides with her emotional side.
