This was an incredible journey. I love how you managed to keep everyone's core characterizations while still having had them grow up and evolve. Narcissa's story is truly a sad one, but I'm so glad that you gave her a happy ending. I like to imagine that she and Draco will develop that mother/son relationship, even if she never remembers that he is her son.

I am curious, though. Even though it wasn't revealed in the story, did you ever figure out what happened to Darla?

oooooh love love love love love!!!!! all cookies go to you!! is there a sequel?

Author's Response: Yay! Cookies! Thanks so very much! No, there isn't a sequel, although I've tossed the idea around in my head. I'll give it some more thought, though. And thanks... I really appreciate your encouragement.

i love this story soooooooooo much! i started to cry uncontrolably! i was wondering if there is going to be a sequel at all? again i enjoyed the story so much. Menachi

Author's Response: Oh, I'm so pleased that you did, Menachi! Thank you so very much! **hands Menachi a tissue** I'm sorry I made you cry... I cried when I wrote it. As for a sequel, well, I've thought about it, but nothing's really come of it. The thought's still there in the back of my mind, and I may do another chapter sometime in the future... we'll see. I really appreciate that you took the time to leave such an encouraging review. Thanks, again!

I really like this story alot. Can you please write some more chapters? Or can you write a sequel to this story please?

Author's Response: Thanks, Megan. Glad you liked it. I may write another chapter in the future... maybe. No idea when, though. Thanks for asking.

“Oh, I may be scarred for life,” Harry moaned, clapping his hand to his forehead.
XD
Ooohh...
*hits herself in the forehead, imitating Harry*
Bad pun, bad pun, bad pun!

Other than that (well, really including it), this was an AMAZING read, and I enjoyed every single bit of it.
^^-
Keep up the great work!

Moonlit River

Author's Response: Thanks, Moonie! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. As for the pun... well... **sheepish grin**... I couldn't resist. Sorry. (Not really!) I'm incredibly flattered that you found this non-SS/HG fic engaging enough to hold your interest. (I started out a die-hard SS/HGer... I know how tough that can be!) I've enjoyed reading your comments, and I truly appreciate your encouragement. Thanks again... you're a gem!

Grr!
Evil Ministry, doing that to Draco's mum!
*evil glare*
Loved the chapter, Snarky!
^^-

Moonie

Author's Response: Thanks, Moonie! I definitely had to make the Ministry the bad guys in all this, and it really isn't inconceivable, especially in this day and age, that a governing body would go to such extreme lengths to protect its newfound peace.

"...think you are, hijacking our ship, manhandling..."
I believe the correct term would be "commandeering", m'dear.
Nautical term.
*grins*
"Hijacking" is associated with planes way too often for it work here.
Just a thought, but shouldn't "Captain Malfoy" be speaking with the same accent as his crew?
Damn, the end of her dream sequence sucks, for lack of a better term.
LOVED it.
Another fantabulous chapter, Snarky!

Moonie

Author's Response: Sigh... hijacking...grumble...thought I'd gotten them all...grumble Thank you for catching that. I've changed it to commandeering. As far as Malfoy speaking with the same accent... no, because he's orignally from a different class than his crew. He's the son of a Lord who chose to leave his life behind after being accused of attempted murder, and I doubt that he'd assume their intonation just to fit in. His sense of superiority is way too developed for that. Yeah, I wouldn't want a dream to end like that, especially one that involved Draco. **wink** But given her changing feelings for him, and given she knows how Harry would react to the revelation of those feelings, the end of the dream isn't really surprsing, is it? Thanks, Moonie!

I'm definitely adding this to my favourites.

That was a beautiful ending and a wonderfully told story. Is there a sequel? I don't want it to end!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Dimmer! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, and I'm incredibly flattered by your kind words. There isn't a sequel now, although I've tossed the idea of writing another part about in my head. Not sure if I'll ever actually do it, but the plot bunny's there, nibbling away at the random carrot. I find the fact that you want it to continue very encouraging, and I think you so much for reading and reviewing. It truly means a lot!

This is one of the best fics I've read in a long time. You managed to capture the horror of the war and the inevitable reality that neither side is free from prejudice. I haven't felt this moved in a long, the story with Narcissa was absolutely heart-breaking and I felt so sorry for Draco's position. Also, glad you made Harry believable. The fight between Hermione and Harry was particularly good at illustrating their deep friendship. I think you captured the characters so well, and managed a few well-placed lines of humour as well. Snape was particularly amusing.

Author's Response: Wow! I'm so very glad you found this story enjoyable, wafball! You mention that neither side is free from prejudice, which was indeed a point I was trying to make. It's so very easy to point out Draco's/Slytherin's/Pureblood's prejudices, because their easily recognizable and they're quite vocal about them. Yet the "other side" has just as many prejudices about them in return. Does that make it all right, because they're the good guys? I don't think so. I'm pleased that you thought Harry was believable, too. While I don't think he and Malfoy would ever truly be best mates, I think that they might eventually be able to understand each other and come to some kind of amicable peace. And Snape... well, Snape will always have an edge as far as I'm concerned. Thank you so very much for such a wonderful and such a detailed review. I'm grateful that you shared your thoughts, and I appreciate you taking the time to read and review.

This is the first story I have ever read, on this site, and I must say it is the best one I have ever read, anywhere. It was breathtaking how you put in the mother/child and brother/sister bonds in,and in only 5 short chapters! This story is amazingly well written and a delightful read. I hope to see many, many more stories from this delightful mind. Thank-you for a beautifully written Draco/Hermione.

Author's Response: I'm the first?!?! How wonderful! Welcome! I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am that you enjoyed my story so much. The relationships were an integral part of the story because, in the end, it's truly all that Draco has left, and all that he can hope to count on. I hope to write many more stories, yellowpages, and I hope you enjoy the many, many other stories from all the wonderful writers here. Thank you so much for your wonderfully encouraging review!

WOW! This was simply, stunningly, beautifully AMAZING! I love the background you developed for Narcissa and I loved how, though Draco did mature, he still kept his identity as a Malfoy.

Author's Response: Thanks so very much, Tatianna! Since we really don't know that much about Narcissa, it was fun to create a more varied history for her. And I think that, no matter what he has to endure, the fact that he's a Malfoy will be what keeps Draco going. He's been given such a sense of family, that I honestly can't see him abandoning that, even if he ultimately veers from the path his father chose for him. Thanks again for reading and for leaving such a wonderfully encouraging review!

Fantastic story. Just delightful to read. You nearly had me in tears over Draco & Narcissa's interaction ... so unbelievably sad (and terrifyingly realistic, actually). The sex, of course, was very hot. Snape is geniusly written - so i.c. it's creepy! Overall, I enjoyed this very, very much. Very well done.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much, m'lady!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and that it moved you. And I'm pleased that you thoiught the characterizations plausible. I appreciate you generous and detailed review... thanks again!

I enjoyed your story :) I never imagined Narcissa enjoying flying before

Author's Response: Thanks! We don't know much about Narcissa from canon, other than she loves Draco enough to enlist the aid of Snape to protect him. But I like to think that there's more to her than just being a pureblooded trophy wife. I'm glad that you found the read enjoyable, and I thank you for taking the time to leave a review. it is verry good. I beleve that it should be just a bit less dramtic though.

Author's Response: Less dramatic, huh? Well, perhaps the part with Snape getting mauled might have been overdone, but given that Harry doesn't battle any monsters, nor does he have any near-death experiences, and Draco doesn't get bitten by anything, (unless you count Fenrir, but that was only claws)and Hermione doesn't get petrified or chased by a troll, I don't think it's really too dramatic. I'm sorry if the drama that's there doesn't appeal to you, but I do appreciate that you read it, and that you took the time to let me know your thoughts. They're very much appreciated.
