Oh no! I've just run across this and it looks like you're not updating anymore! Please tell me it's not abandoned.

I have become COMPLETELY addicted to this fic! I find myself logging into Lumos, a corner of SycophantHex I rarely frequent, every single day to see if you've updated--sometimes more than once in a day. Keep up the amazing, excellent work, and I can't wait to see where this goes!

I am SO SO SO hooked on this fic it's retarded!  I haven't visited Sycophanthex for months and months and after being at the Burrow I decided to mosey on over to Lumos and one of the fics I read was this one!  I also read the twenty things about Petunia and McGonagall and I might just go through the rest of your work.  Will you be updating soon?  I hope so I want ot know how you will play things out for the Dursleys.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you're enjoying this story! It's been my favorite to write so far. :) My updates will be a little slow this month due to work craziness, a vacation that will mean a week without internet access, and the holidays, but the next chapter is up now. :)

I thought that a board game would be quite the ticket, especially chess as it was designed for sieges, but I guess Vernon would go crackers if a wizard's chess game was in full swing. Nice hints of Hestia's sad past.

I was wondering when Snape was going to appear in the story. Very well done. (Perhaps Petunia was jealous of the attention?)

Hestia Jones is the life-line to the outside world, the only protection, the only supplier that they have, and the closest person in Petunia's life now. Again with the WWII experiences. Dudley remember dementors, and probably fears their return even more without his cousin to protect him. And what if the dementors or the Voldy-thing gets Harry?
I like the dream sequence in chapter 7. Sleep is probably the only time when Petunia can relax.

this is quite good, you have given Petunia alot more depth than the average person would credit her with. i think i would like to see alot more reminicing of her and lily and perhaps flash backs would be really cool

GREAT WORK!

X

Author's Response: Thank you!! There will be some more reminiscing, and growing on Petunia's part. Well, for all of them, but especially Petunia. I hope you continue to enjoy it!!

I'm in the middle of this, but you've revealed a side of VERNON I'd never even considered! We thought of Petunia as a real person, but Vernon (at least in canon) was somewhat of a cardboard figure...

Author's Response: *grins* Vernon, I'll admit, isn't going to appear to be the most complex of characters beyond this chapter for a while yet. It's not that he's NOT complex, because I think there's more emotion happening below the surface than Harry sees, but it's going to take a while for readers to see much of it because his usual reaction to any sort of fear or upset, it seems, is usually anger--the Vernon we all know and, um, love to hate? :D

These chapters remind me of people who were in hiding during WWII and other times. Cramped, dark, boring and horribly scary. Well written.

Author's Response: Thank you! It definitely was a scary time for them--uncertain and awful and terrifying and mind-numbingly boring, I'd imagine. :(
