This story endeavours to explain how Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks, apparently so different, became an item nonetheless, and to fill in a few gaps in the storyline of HBP. In Chapter One, before setting out to patrol the corridors of his old school in 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', Remus finds himself reflecting on the very beginning of his acquaintance with Tonks.
